Draco and I arrive at the gate entrance of the Malfoy Manor and shills run down my spine. My gaze scans the enormous dark building in front of me.
I stare up at the two incredibly high placed silver entrance gates while Draco casts a spell to make them move open and we enter. Dark green trees, perfectly cut and shaped, align from where we are standing right to the front porch of the house. Each one of them grows with the exact amount of space to the other ones in line. I look to my left and right, as we walk along the path, made out of little stones, and notice the fresh grass and several little fountains with tiny statues of swans and other creatures build on top of each. Clear blue water flows through them, making comforting splashing sounds. Bunch of blood red roses wrap around each fountain for decoration.
I've never seen a garden as big as this one. I might have time to count each one of the roses on each fountain before we would arrive the craved dark wooden doors of the house.
A high bush fence stretches up to the sky, right at height with the silver entrance gates, blocking out any possible intruder.
I notice a wave of relieve as soon as I step foot on one of the stairs of the front porch to the doors of the house. It feels like a wave of warmth and calmness that takes over me, making my heart rate ease down. I take a deep breath to get familiar with the feeling. "What was that?" I ask Draco who's at my left side, giving me a little smirk.
"Don't worry, it's a safety charm my mother casted on the house." He explains while opening the doors of the house for me to step in first. "The positive effect only works for people with no bad intentions at this place." Draco continues as he comes closer to my ear, placing his hand on my lower back. "Guess I don't have to worry about you now, huh?"
With a small grin he gives me a little squeeze on my hip as he looks me in the eyes. "Guess you don't. Played with the thought of robbing you out, though."
Draco laughs out at the joke as his soft lips press against my cheek.
My eyes dart across the entire scene in front of me as we step inside. Marble floors, a giant staircase, leading to the second floor, portraits and paintings on the walls that seem older than me, a pendant light that seems to be out of literal diamonds right at the center of the room we are standing in. The space is so big, even tiny trees which are cut perfectly round are placed next to other doors. I can't spot a single thing of life in this house, everything is so clean and ideally placed, it almost seems like nobody has set foot into this house for a very long time to leave their footprint.
"Living room is over to the left. Kitchen is down the hallway," Draco points at the doors of the rooms. "To the right is the office and the entrance to the terrace. Out there you also find the garden." His hand lifts to the stairs and the second floor that is peeking from down here. "Upstairs are the bedrooms, bathrooms and all that."
He's explained everything so fast that my eyes were not able to follow all the quick and familiar directions he is used to. "Wow." That word is all that escapes me while I keep looking around the entire house. It's literally shining. It doesn't feel cold at all just like it looks from outside. Completely the contrary to be precise. It's so comforting, and the temperature is perfect. Not too warm, not too fresh. Just perfect.
The house isn't the kind of house you would imagine at first. There are not traces of life. Of ownership. Of open character. And yet this house is made of elegance, class and clear expression of wealth and dignity. It's the house that you'd live in if everything inside you screamed 'power'.
"Shall we go upstairs? I'll show you my room." Draco taps my arm as he heads towards the stairs. "Leave the suitcases, the elves will take care of them."
