"From yuh touch Jamaica girl yuh nuh memba mi," my friend Dymond says on Facetime.
She's absolutely right. I've been spending all my time with Liam that I haven't been out with my family since I've got here.
"I have something to tell you and yuh probably naa go like it," I chuckle.
"Which fuckry yuh gone dung a do now?" Dymond asks.
"I slept with Liam since we've reconnected," I tell her.
"Girl how yuh even mek that happen?"
"Well we fucked more than once. One of the times we got caught by the police.....but I think it's because of how we ended our relationship in high school why it happened. We ended with unfinished business," I explain.
"Police? Your trip festive eee. So is this like a friends with benefits type of relationship or are y'all dating?"
"I would say friends with benefits but I don't know what he would call it. He's so much better than he was in high school girl," I add.
"Rianne yuh sound like yuh in love. Happy fi yuh but remember fi always tread lightly. Men are very good pretenders," Dymond tells me.
"Yeah man. Naa trust him fully as yet."
"Rianne weh yuh deh?" I hear my father calling me.
"Mi inna the dining room," I shout answering him.
"Dymond later mi call yuh back," I say hanging up the phone.
My father Sean walks into the dining room holding a Fed-Ex cardboard box. A wah him order now?
"What did you order now?" I ask him.
"Buy mi buy some barber equipments from Amazon and dem just reach so mi go pick them up same time. Any how mi never go collect dem, the shipping company would a mek waa piece of money off a mi head," Dad explains.
"Yaa stay here the whole day?" He asks.
"Yeah."
"Mi affi ask because you and Liam up and dung from yuh reach yah. No likkle time fi yuh pops," Dad adds.
"Mi and yuh today mi OG."
"Yuh stay deh. Mi party a start 9:00 tonight so some of my friends are coming over. Wull heap a sumn mi affi do.......jerk chicken, buy some liquor and get waa last minute DJ. Naave time fi yuh today likkle girl," Dad laughs.
"A you deh cuss mi bout spending time together," I tell him.
"Yes Rianne but not today. Call up yuh man and gwaan somewhere wid him. Mi busy," He says opening his box.
