12:03am, Night 4

Nate rushed into the office, dropping his stuff under the desk and powering on the laptop. The animatronics rushed into the room with excitement. "Nate! We were worried about you!" Chica exclaimed. "Foxy came in here right at 12:00am and didn't see you! We thought something happened!" Bonnie said. Nate looked up at the open vent, then back at the floor where ventilation cover was. "Yeah, I can see that. Anyway, I'm fine, just overslept is all." Nate reassured. "Nate! We need your help!" Freddy rushed into the office. "What's wrong?!" Nate asked, concerned. "There's a lost child in the party room!" Freddy explained.
"Oh no." Nate whispered quietly. What if that guy was here? He had to help them. "Show me." Nate said, getting to his feet. He and the other animatronics followed Freddy into the party room, but the child was no longer there. "Damn it!" Nate yelled. "Let's look for them!" Chica shouted. They began searching the whole room, but there was no sign of the poor kid anywhere. Then, Nate heard a scream from the back of the building. "This way!" He exclaimed, running down the long hallway with the animatronics at his heels. He burst into the parts and services room to find the man in the costume, staring down at a terrified little girl. "Hey! Step away from her!" Nate demanded. The man turned to face him, but quickly looked back to the little girl. The poor girl started sobbing, the horrified look in her eyes brought tears to Nate's eyes. "Don't be afraid, little girl. I'm going to help you find your mommy." The man said, reaching his gloved hand out to the girl. Nate hurried over and got in between them, pushing the man's hand away. "I'm security here, I'll make sure she gets home safely." Nate told the man, trying to keep his tone calm for the girl's sake. "You sure?" The man asked, playing along only to save his own skin. "Yeah, I'm sure. You go home, I'll handle this." Nate said sternly. "Okay, goodnight." The man started to walk away, waving to the little girl. Nate watched him leave, and Freddy gave him a thumbs up when he was out of the building. Nate kneeled down in front of the little girl, he gave her a soft smile, trying to make his presence comforting. "Are you okay?" Nate asked her. "Y-yes." She replied, sniffling. "I'm Nate, what's your name?"
"Uh, A-Abby."
"Alright, Abby. It's okay, you're safe. I'm going to get you home to mom and dad, sound good?"
"Yeah."
Nate rose to his feet and gave Abby his hand, she took it reluctantly. Nate led her out of the room and into the office, where the animatronics sang her a song while Nate called the police.  He explained to them the situation, and his suspicions about the man. Nate got off the phone with police and waited for them to arrive, he watched as the animatronics told the girl jokes and sang her songs. There was no way these animatronic animals were responsible for that happened here, Nate knew it. The animatronics wouldn't hurt a fly, they were comforting a scared little girl right at that moment. They made her smile, even after she just had the fright of her life. Nate needed to prove them innocent, make people believe that they aren't the ones to blame. He didn't care how many nights it took, how many hours of research he had to do, he felt like he owed it to them. Just then, Nate heard sirens outside. The animatronics rushed back to their places while Nate led Abby to the front of the building. "Nathan Sharp?" An officer asked. "Yes, sir." Nate replied.
"Thank you, we'll take her from here."
"Of course."
The officer picked Abby up and placed her the front seat of a squad car, looking her over to make sure she was alright. "Excuse me, sir?" Another officer walked up to Nate, a notepad in his hand. "Yes?" Nate replied. "Do you mind if I ask you a couple questions?"
"No, not at all."
"Great, if you could just step over here for me."
Nate followed the officer around the corner of the building to get away from all the noise. "So, you found a man with the girl, correct?
"That's correct."
"Okay, do you know who he is?"
"Not really. All I know is that he supposedly works here, I don't know his name or what he looks like. I've only seen him with the costume on."
"Alright, where did you find the girl?"
"The parts and services room."
"Okay, how long have you been working here, Mr. Sharp?"
"I just started Monday night."
"Okay."
The questioning continued as the little girl's parents pulled up to the restaurant. They got out of the car and rushed over to their daughter, embracing her in a hug. Nate smiled at the sight, at least one story here had a happy ending. The officer looked over at the exchange as well, a small smile on his face. "That's what makes this job worth it." The officer said.
"I bet it does. Feels pretty good to see a happy ending, especially at this place."
"You got that right."
The officer finished questioning Nate and led him back to the front of the building, where the girl and her family were talking with police officers. Abby's mom looked over at Nate, then looked back to the officers while pointing at him. "Is that who found her?" The mom asked. "Yes, ma'am." The officer replied. The woman walked over and gave a Nate a hug before shaking his hand, tears in her eyes. "Thank you so much." She said, her voice breaking. "Of course, ma'am." Nate told her, smiling. Abby's father walked up and shook his hand as well, giving him a grateful nod. Nate gave him a quick nod back before turning back to the officer. "Alright, Mr. Sharp. You can go back inside or go home, whatever you wish." The officer told him. "Thank you, sir." Nate answered. Nate gave the family a smile and waved to Abby before going back inside the restaurant. When Nate got back to his office, the whole room was trashed. The chair was thrown across the room, the laptop was upside down on floor. Papers were scattered everywhere and one of the shelves was broken. "The hell?" Nate questioned, the office was clean when he arrived earlier. He began to clean things up, then he heard a loud crash come from the party room. Nate went to investigate, thinking that it was just one of the animatronics causing a ruckus. He entered the room to see tables and chairs and flipped over, decorations falling off the walls, the clock was even crooked. "Okay, what is going on?" Nate said to himself. Nate walked over and fixed the clock, it was 3:09am. While stepping back to make sure it was straight, Bonnie called from behind him. "Nate! Watch out!" Nate turned around to see Bonnie hanging from some party streamers, pointing to a corner next to him. Nate looked over, and a green animatronic lunged at him from the shadows. Nate fell backwards, hitting his head on a table. He struggled against the little green thing for several seconds, trying to keep himself from being bitten. "What is this thing?!" Nate exclaimed, trying desperately to free himself from it's grasp. "Springtrap! He's dangerous!" Freddy yelled, climbing on top of one of the tables. "Where's the Puppet?!" Chica asked, panicked. Just as it's name was called, the Puppet swung in and attacked Springtrap. Nate shuffled away from the two of them before getting up and rushing over to get Bonnie down. Once he was freed, the two joined the others. "What do we do?! We have to help the Puppet!" Bonnie said. Nate looked around for anything that could be used against the dangerous animatronic, he spotted a lighter that used for lighting party candles. Nate grabbed it off the table and broke a leg off a turned over chair, he had a plan. "Puppet! When I throw this, move out of the way!" Nate yelled. The animatronics looked at Nate anxiously, they hoped his plan would work. Nate lit the wooden chair leg on fire and waited for the flame to grow. Once it was big enough, Nate threw the wooden leg at Springtrap. It hit him, and the Puppet moved out of the way just before Springtrap erupted into flames. "Someone get me a fire extinguisher!" Nate called out. Foxy ran out of the room and came back with a red fire extinguisher he had gotten from Pirate Cove. Nate took it from him and sprayed it at Springtrap, putting the little green creature out. The animatronic laid still, it's interior and exterior smoking. Nate took a sigh of relief, before dropping back into one of the chairs. "I'd say that went pretty well!" Bonnie exclaimed, causing everyone to look at him and shake their heads. "At least we stopped Springtrap." Chica said. This had been the craziest night of Nate's life, first a lost girl and a weirdo, now a killer animatronic and a destroyed pizzeria. "We need to clean this place up before AJ gets here." Nate told everyone, they all nodded in agreement. Nate put the tables and chairs back up while the others redid the decorations, then, they got back to the office to clean it up just in time. The clock struck 6:00am, and the animatronics ran off to the MainStage and Pirate's Cove. Nate greeted AJ with a smile as he entered the room. "Hey, man, you look you've had a rough night."
"It was a little exhausting."
"Well, I hate to do this to you but we're short-staffed again today, got another birthday party at 10:00am. We need you stick around again." AJ explained. Nate nodded, he was tired but he could stay for a bit. "That's fine." He agreed. "Awesome, thank you." AJ walked over to join him at the desk. He leaned up against it and gave Nate a serious look. "So, what happened last night? I heard you called the police." AJ asked.
"Oh, a little girl was lost. Everything is fine now."
"Okay, glad to hear it was nothing serious. This job is full of surprises."
"You can say that again."
AJ left the room to get started for the day, and Nate rested his eyes until the party began. He hoped that the man from earlier would stay away this time, especially after police had been here. Maybe Nate scared him off, or at least deterred him from causing any trouble. Nate dozed off, trying to get any sleep he could before another day of overtime.

> 9:59am, Night 4

Nate woke up just before the party started. He let out a yawn before turning on the laptop to watch the live footage from the cameras, which was a little more grainy than usual. Nate tapped keys on the keyboard, trying to fix the video's poor quality. Nothing was working though, and the problem was getting worse. Nate could barely see the room through the blurry static that covered the screen, maybe the camera was broken? With an annoyed look, Nate got up and made his way to the party room. He smiled at the guests as he walked over to the camera, trying to see if he could fix the issue. He couldn't see anything wrong from the ground, he would have to get closer to the camera to find the problem. He walked out of the room to find AJ and ask him for his help, he found him backstage tidying up. "Hey, AJ?" Nate asked.
"What's up?"
"Do you have a ladder or a step stool I can use? The party room camera is having issues."
"Uhh, yeah, I'll go grab one. Meet you there."
"Thanks."
Nate walked back into the party room, only to notice that the camera was now completely destroyed. The lens was cracked and all the wiring had been cut, but Nate had only left for a minute. His eyes widened, this was definitely the work of someone who didn't want to be seen through the camera. AJ walked into the room with a ladder, but he nearly dropped it at the sight of the ruined camera. "You weren't kidding when you said it was having issues." AJ commented. "It wasn't this bad when I first came in here. Someone must have tampered with it."
AJ and Nate looked at each other with confusion, how could someone completely cut this camera in the short amount of time Nate was gone? "Hey, did anyone see what happened to this camera?" AJ asked everyone in the room. "One of the mascots disconnected it, he told us that the camera needed to be replaced so he was getting it ready." A parent told them. Nate and AJ exchanged a glare, they knew exactly who messed with it now. "Told you that guy was strange." Nate whispered. "I'm starting to think you're right about him." AJ replied. They propped the ladder up and Nate climbed to the top while AJ held it steady. Nate inspected the camera thoroughly, a minor connection issue he could fix, but not a cut wire and cracked lens. "Can you fix it?" AJ asked.
"No, it's completely destroyed. Either call in a professional or get a new one."
"That sucks, this place looses enough money as it is."
Nate climbed down the ladder and shook his head, he couldn't believe how far this guy was going. Well, that was until he remembered that the guy killed kids, then it started to make more sense. "I'll just stay in the room until the party is over, no big deal." Nate said.
"You sure?"
"Yeah, it's fine, I'll just hang out in the corner or something."
"Alright. I'll put this away and then watch the other cameras for you."
"Okay."
Nate made his way over to a corner and sat down in one of the chairs, silently observing the room. Everything seemed to be fine for now, the man wasn't here, in this room at least. A few minutes pass and the clock strikes 11:00am, every hour the animatronics put on their show. They came out on stage and began singing a song, looking at Nate in between verses. All the children cheered and sang along, watching the animatronics happily. Nate began to feel his eyes getting heavy, he had barely slept. He forced himself to stay awake, if he fell asleep and that guy came in here, Nate knew he would be responsible for whatever happened. His persistence didn't last long though, and eventually he succumbed to his exhaustion.
