> 10:52am"Hello, my name is Kailey Gray, I work the night shift here at a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they rebuilt it, in case you didn't know. Anyway, Listen, Nate, I know you don't know me and this is probably really weird, but I didn't know who else to go to. Uhh, some weird things have been happening here at the restaurant lately, and uh, I was wondering if you'd be willing to come help me out? I know you've worked here before and have experience with strange things happening here, and I'm desperate. It's started to really freak me out, and none of the animatronics know why it's happening either. So, please, I know this place probably brings back bad memories for you, but we need help. If you could at least call me back, that'd be great. Thanks."
Nate listened to the voicemail, poor Kailey's voice sounded absolutely terrified. Nate could tell she was awfully young too, he felt bad that the kid got roped into such an awful job. The least he could do was call her back, maybe it was just a fluke? He called her back and put the phone to his ear. "Hello?" A girl's voice answered.
"Hey, uhh, is this Kailey?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, um, this is Nate. You left me a voicemail a few hours ago."
"Oh! Nate! I didn't think you would call back, thank you so much!"
"Yeah, no problem. What's going on?"
"So, it started off as just weird noises occasionally. Y'know, scraping? Creaking? Footsteps? Figured it was just the Puppet or something. Then it turned into more, and just last night I heard a man's voice down one of the hallways, but he wouldn't show up on any of the cameras. I'm sure you know that no one else is supposed to be in the building except the night guard, so you can imagine how weird I found it."
"Yeah, that does sound pretty odd. Tell you what, how about I swing by Freddy's tonight and see if I can figure it out?"
"You'd be willing to do that? Thank you!"
"No worries, I'll see you there."
Nate felt that it was a little strange that he was meeting up with a teenager at midnight, but he couldn't just leave Kailey hanging. Nate just hoped that the voice she heard was who he thought it was, but just in case, Nate wanted to be prepared. He dialed another number and called it.
"Hey, Nate!" Mark answered the phone.
"Hey, listen, this is going to sound crazy but I need your help."
Nate explained everything to Mark, and Mark happily agreed to go with Nate to Freddy's. He was all for making sure that the man, who they now knew was Scott, stayed away from Freddy's. They arrived later that night. The restaurant was in rough shape, it had been closed for years but Scott just couldn't seem to let it go. Nate and Mark got out of the car and made their way inside to the office, where Kailey was sitting. Nate knocked on the doorframe, alerting her of their presence.> September 5, 2019
> 12:04am, Night 1"Oh! You must be Nate." Kailey said, getting up.
"Yep, and this is Mark, he tagged along because he also has experience with... well... this place."
"Nice to meet you." Kailey replied, shaking both their hands. She went back to the desk and sat down, pulling up the security cameras. Nate and Mark stood behind her, watching the screen. "So, nothing too strange has happened yet. There have been some clangs from the kitchen, but it's most likely just Chica. She usually gets a snack before paying me a visit." Kailey explained.
"How long have you been working here?" Mark asked.
"About a year."
"A year? How old are you? Sorry if that seems like a personal question." Nate replied.
"Uhh no, it's fine. I'm 17, Freddy's was just supposed to be my first job but I guess it kind of just... stuck."
"Got it."
Nate set his backpack down on the floor, and Mark did the same with his duffle bag full of weapons. Kailey's eyebrows raised, she didn't know to react to all of the weaponry put beside her. It felt a little excessive. "Oh, you can never be too prepared." Mark told her, seeing she was taken aback. "Right." Kailey answered, turning back to the laptop on the desk. She skimmed the cameras, and before long, she saw the animatronics making their way towards the office. "They're on their way." Kailey announced. A few seconds later, the animatronics sprung into Nate and Mark's arms, excited to see them after such a long time. "We missed you!" Chica exclaimed. "Welcome back!" Freddy said. Foxy growled happily, and Bonnie hugged Mark tightly. "Okay, okay, let go." Nate said, smiling. The animatronics stepped back, then looked to Kailey. "What are they doing here?!" Bonnie asked.
"They're here to help me figure out what the noises are."
"Really?! You guys are doing that for us?!" Freddy asked Mark.
"Of course!" He replied.
The animatronics cheered happily before settling down, then they joined Kailey. "I'm going to grab extra chairs from the Party Room." Mark said, grabbing a machete out of his duffle bag before leaving the room. The room was awkwardly silent for a moment, Nate felt strange being alone with a teenage girl, he didn't know what to say. "So, how long has it been?" Kailey asked to break the silence.
"What?" Nate answered.
"How long has it been since you were here last?"
"Oh, probably around 5 years."
"Ahh, okay."
The room was silent for a few seconds once again, before Kailey spoke once more. "Why did you choose to come back?"
"Oh, I would've felt bad leaving you hanging. I have experience with this place, I know how it works, I know what's happened here. I've seen things that I wish I didn't, things that still haunt me to this day. I don't want that to happen to anyone else, so if I can prevent it from happening again, I will."
"Wow, that's... really admirable of you."
"Thanks." Nate scratched the back of his head, he didn't know how to react to Kailey's compliment. "Umm, if you don't mind me asking," Kailey began, "what did happen here exactly? I've only heard rumors." Nate felt his stomach drop at her question. He didn't want to answer, the memories were something he didn't want to dredge up, but he also felt like she had the right to know. If she worked here, she deserved to know what she was in for. "Umm..." Nate started. "Well, the first time I worked here was back in 2009. I needed money, was desperate for a job, so I took the night shift, like you. It was good for the first couple of days, then things started to change. There was this guy who dressed in a costume to get closer to the kids, back when this place was still open. He was a despicable human being, psychotic, if you will. One night, I had fallen asleep on the job, and let him get just a bit too close to a young boy. There was nothing I could to stop it, the man had broken my nose and gave me a concussion. All I could do was watch and listen as the metal teeth of the man's mask tore through the boy's face, it was sickening." Nate paused for a moment, having a hard time talking about the horrific events. Kailey looked at him with sadness, and what appeared to be empathy. He took a moment to gather himself, before continuing the story. "Then a couple days later, the man was pissed at me for ruining his "plan," so he broke back into the restaurant and got a knife from the kitchen. The animatronics, a guy named AJ and I tried to trap him so police could take him back into custody, but something went wrong. He knocked AJ out, then held me captive for hours. He tortured me, mentally and physically. I tried my hardest to keep myself together, but that was the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. Then, a few minutes before 6am that night, he stabbed me. I almost didn't make it, but an old coworker named AJ saved my life. He's the only reason I survived." Nate finished. Kailey was speechless, she felt her whole heart sink. The couldn't imagine experiencing something so traumatic, Freddy's had a darker history than she thought. "You never told me that." Mark spoke up from the entrance of the office, two wooden chairs in his hands. He had overheard the whole thing. "I wanted to just move on and forget about it, but Kailey deserved to know the history, be prepared for the twisted things that tend to happen here." Nate wiped away a tear from his eye. "Nate, I am so sorry. I didn't know it was that traumatic or I never would have asked." Kailey said.
"No, it's okay. I can't keep it in forever."
"What happened to the man and AJ?"
Mark looked at Nate, and Nate nodded, indicating that Mark could answer her question. "The man, Scott, hired me about 7 years later, but I was fired after a couple days. Then they were in need of a night guard, so Nate returned. That night, he and the animatronics got attacked by a wild animatronic named Springtrap, who turned out to just be AJ's way of making Nate quit. When it didn't work, AJ realized his mistake, but it was too late. The man, Scott, had us right where he needed us. AJ unknowingly got us all into the office, then Scott was going to kill us. He got AJ, ripped through him with a chainsaw. Nate, the animatronics and I managed to escape due to Springtrap being released by myself. He attacked Scott, causing him to use his fancy chainsaw, which had a built in flamethrower, to burn the original Freddy's down." Mark explained.
Kailey leaned back in her chair, eyes wide. "Okay, that's a lot to take in." She said. "Hey, you asked." Mark replied.
"Yeah, I guess that is kind of my fault."
Suddenly, the Party Room camera turned to static. Everyone looked over, and Kailey began pressing keys on the laptop's keyboard in an attempt to fix the video. Mark set the wooden chairs down, he and Nate took a seat, then began trying to help Kailey fix the problem. "Try troubleshooting it." Nate suggested.
"I did!" Kailey replied, nothing she did was working. She tried troubleshooting again, but the camera's feed was still nothing but static. "Ugh! This damn thing has always been spotty!" She exclaimed, trying to restart the program. After a few seconds, the camera flipped back on. Everything seemed normal, nothing was out of place and the room was silent. "Coincidence?" Kailey questioned.
"I'll check." Mark said, grabbing a pistol from his duffle bag and loading it. Then he walked out of the office towards the Party Room. "Is he really brave or just plain stupid?" Kailey asked Nate about Mark.
"Not stupid, fortunately, just overly confident."
"Got it."
Mark returned after a couple minutes, he set his pistol on the desk before sitting down. "Nothing." He told them. "Foxy, check the vents." Nate told the animatronic fox. Foxy nodded and used Nate head to help himself into the ventilation system. They could hear him clanging through the vents, along with various grunts and growls of frustration. Freddy, Chica and Bonnie left the office to search the rest of the building, while Nate, Mark and Kailey watched the cameras closely. After minutes of silence, they heard Bonnie let out a scream. Kailey, Nate and Mark and looked at one another with surprise. "Stay here!" Nate told Kailey as he and Mark went to investigate. "Wait! Hold on! You're just going to leave me here? Alone?!" She exclaimed. Mark came back and pulled another pistol out of his bag, he placed it in her hands. "Do you know how to use that?" He asked.
"I grew up in country where hunting and fishing were necessary skills, yes, I know how to use this."
"Okay, if we're not back in 2 minutes, start to worry."
Nate and Mark left the room, leaving Kailey by herself. Nate didn't like the idea, but the kid seemed like she could handle herself. She had been working possibly the worst job in existence for a year, so she had something going for her. They burst into Pirate's Cove, to find Bonnie's foot stuck in a hole that was in the floor. "Nate, Mark! We can't get him unstuck!" Chica yelled. Nate sighed, at least it wasn't anything serious. With the help of Mark, he managed to free the bunny animatronic. "Thank you! I should really watch my step from now on." Bonnie said. They returned to the office, where Kailey was waiting for them impatiently. "You're back! Is everything okay?" She asked.
"All good, Bonnie just got his foot stuck." Mark answered.
"Oh, alright."
The rest of the night was uneventful, no unusual sounds or activity. Everyone, including the animatronics, nearly dozed off several times. Eventually, the clock reached 5:55am. "You guys should leave before the day crew arrives, I'm not supposed to have anyone with me on the job." Kailey told Nate and Mark.
"Okay. Let me know if anything strange happens again, you have my number." Nate told her.
"Will do. Bye!"
"Bye!"
"Buh-bye!" Mark chimed in before grabbing his duffle bag and following behind Nate. Nate got into the driver's seat of his car and Mark got into the seat next to him, throwing his duffle bag into the backseat. Nate started his car, then buckled his seatbelt. Mark buckled himself in as well. Nate put the car in drive, but he didn't pull out of the driveway. "You alright, man?" Mark asked. Nate put the car back in park and unbuckled his seatbelt. "I don't feel right leaving her, I'm going to walk her to her car." Nate told him, opening the door. "Oh, okay." Mark answered, a little confused. Nate got out of the car and pushed the door shut, then he jogged back to the building. He opened the front door and made his way back to the office, where Kailey was gathering her things. "Did you forget something?" She questioned.
"Uhh, no, I just didn't feel right about leaving you by yourself. Let me walk you to your car."
"Oh, umm, alright."
Kailey was slightly taken aback, but she didn't protest. She grabbed her purse and keys, put her cell phone in her jeans pocket and headed out the door. Nate walked beside her, he opened the door for her, then let it close behind them. Kailey turned around and locked it, then continued to walk to her vehicle. She and Nate walked over to a older, white pickup truck. Kailey unlocked her truck, and climbed inside. She set her stuff in the passenger seat, before turning to Nate. "Thanks." She said.
"No problem."
"See you later."
"See you."
Nate closed the door for her, and watched as she pulled out of the parking lot. He made his way back to his car, where Mark was waiting for him. He got back into the car, and pulled out of the parking space. "Was everything okay?" Mark asked.
"Oh, yeah, just making sure."
"Alright.
Nate dropped Mark off, then drove himself home.
