chapter twenty-three
"it's the end, seonghwa"
the past few days have been very busy for seonghwa. he spent almost 20 hours a day working whether it's in the company or formulating a plan on how to deal with his problems. when he said problems, he meant the villa and song kangmin. he doesn't know how stupid he is that he took so long to realized who his enemy really is. from the start it wasn't the people who threaten to have his head detached, it's the man that wished him the best.
song kangmin is the enemy.
seonghwa's currently in his office, a pile of papers on his desk. it has stacked up as he was gone for almost a month . that includes his disappearance because of yuri and recovering. he clearly doesn't need that much rest but he's under the hands of seola. it surprises him how he could withstand pain but can't withstand a woman smaller and weaker than him. i mean, it's just seola. what worse can happen if he don't do as she say, right?
"seonghwa!"
he lifts his gaze at the call of wooyoung before the door was forcefully opened. it revealed wooyoung's back, arms in the air with seola on the front, a gun on her hand and pointing at wooyoung. "i think she's gone mad" wooyoung run towards seonghwa for protection. "careful with that, i think it's loaded" seonghwa calmly sort the situation. he has many questions running in his head but what comes first was how the hell did seola found that gun. he's very sure he hid that in a secluded space. "it is. shall we try it?"
both wooyoung and seonghwa scream as the female's finger gaze on the trigger. "what the hell is wrong with you?! you can't barge in here holding a gun, do you wish to kill me?!" he shouts, panicking. why is he even panicking? seola won't shoot him, right? right? now he's having doubts. "ms. song, maybe we can talk calmly and discard the gun?" wooyoung pleads. "i refuse. your boss has too much sin for me that i won't be able to sort this calmly"
seonghwa was confused. he knows damn well he has loads of sin but a sin that relates to seola? just how bad is it that she's pointing a gun at him? "do you even know how to use that?" he challenges, taking a step. "don't move. i may not know how but i know how to pull the trigger" seola threatened. "go on, shoot me. as far as i remember, i put one bullet there. go on. what's the odds of you not shooting me?" he hums. "i said don't move!"
seonghwa sighed, finally reaching seola. he easily snatched the gun, opening the chamber only to see it empty. "empty. you can go now, wooyoung." wooyoung immediately ran, shutting the door. "now, what happened?" he asked, loading the gun. "speak. or i'll shoot" he now points the gun to seola. "don't say i won't shoot you cause i could. you barged in here using my own weapon and threatening me with it. now, speak"
"my father"
those two words were enough. he put the gun down, tucking it in his pants. "you met him?" seola gulps, nodding. "he said a lot of things. i expected him to apologize for faking his and mom's death but he never did. he said he was blinded by taking you out." seonghwa listens, his eyes stinging but he pushes it off. "he said that that was his goal from the start. he married my mom so he has money while doing it. i thought it's absurd because you're way younger than him and there's no way you did something to him cause you're just a year older than me"
"he said it's your father"
"he said i wasn't in the plan at all. that i'm never meant to be his and my mom's daughter. he said i was an accident and that he hated me ever since. he said mom never wanted a child as well, that she insisted on getting me aborted when she found out. he told me a lot, seonghwa. i came to a realization that the years i was with them was not pure. it was a playhouse. we were playing, except i didn't know the rules"
"is that why you barged in here holding a gun? were you mad?"
"yes" seola sighs, looking down and pushing her hair back in frustration. "it's okay. where is he now? song kangmin" he asked, holding the female by her shoulder. "he said he's gonna end it. i don't know what he meant but it's that, right? he meant that thing, right?" seola looked at him, eyes waiting for answers. "probably. come on, don't think too much. you're exhausted and i know a lot of things are going in your mind" seonghwa pull seola to hug, rubbing her back as comfort. "i'm being too emotional, am i?"
"no, you're fine. you can react like that"
•
"what do you mean by heart failure?" seonghwa asked, standing in his kitchen with wooyoung delivering some kind of news to him. well, it's neither good nor bad news. for him, well, it can be good news but for seola? he don't know. "he was found in the villa, dead. no sign of abuse and drug dosage as well. he died, seonghwa" wooyoung gulps. it's already so hard for him to deliver this news but he should think about seola more. "since when is he suffering from heart failure?"
"it's the end, seonghwa"
"what?" he lifts his head up. "i personally think this is good news. yuri is gone and he's gone. you can live a normal life with seola now. and maybe you know, start settling in. live a normal life and start a family with her. you don't have to think about her safety anymore" wooyoung assures. "you are safe and she is safe. everyone is safe. you can start over again, seonghwa"
"i don't think seola will think the same. he's her father"
"yeah, who's not physically and emotionally present to her. they were in a playhouse, seonghwa. they were playing and she didn't know the rules. it's fiction to her parents but to her it's not. think about it, seonghwa. you got the money and seola will be more than happy to settle with you."
seola stares at the wall in front of her, she's currently in seonghwa's room. blanket drape on her lap, the only source of light in the room being the lamp beside her. a lot of things are running in her head. her father, to be specific. her mother was long gone in her head. the moment she said she don't want her, she gave up. but her father. the man she first love. why is it so easy for him to let go of those words? like she's not his daughter. but what's weird was she's not crying.
it's not because she doesn't want to, she's just not hurt that much.
she has seonghwa, after all.
"hey" seola fixed her posture upon seonghwa's arrival. she watched him close the door behind him and open all the lights. "i need to talk to you about something, i know it's a bad time but i think we really need to talk" seonghwa sat on the corner of bed, beside her. "no, it's alright. it's a good time, what is it about?" to say that she's beyond nervous. she's nervous as to what seonghwa will say. will he dump her now? she can't really say he's breaking up with her cause they never really talk about their relationship.
"about us"
"oh" she let out. maybe seonghwa is really dumping her. "tomorrow morning, i will fix everything. i've decided to leave silveria in wooyoung's hand and just focus on the company. and maybe purchase a house wherever you like it to be?" seonghwa hums. "why is it to my liking? it's your house" she responded. "we'll live there together, seola. i want to start over with you. now that your father is gone and so is yuri, let's start over. like a normal human being. no guns or death. just a normal life"
"be my partner, seola"
"hm?" seonghwa hums, waiting for her answer. she nods, pushing herself closer to seonghwa and wrapping her arms around his waist. seonghwa returns the action and pulls her closer to him. "are you sure about me now?" seola jokingly asked. "if i'm not? will you leave?" she broke the hug, glaring at seola's with her brows furrowed. "i'm kidding. of course, very sure. but seola" she hums as seonghwa pulls her back to the hug.
"i want 2 kids"
"hey" she warns. "you should head to sleep. you have work tomorrow and i have lots of things to do. and, i need you to meet me tomorrow at 6pm. i need your signatures. like you'll be signing quite lots of paper so you need a whole 8 or more hours of sleep" seonghwa ignored her remarks. "my sign for what?"
"i'm giving you 20% of my properties, ms. song"
