Varun's POV

"So, Varun sir", his nasty and notorious voice was as annoying as he is.

"Its Varun, Nikitesh. Its always been Varun. Where did sir come from all of a sudden?"

I kind of knew where this conversation was heading towards, that sickeningly sweet smile on his face was enough to tell me.

"You have married the bosses' daughter man. You lucky lucky man. Ab toh tumhari nikal padi bhai.", he patted on my shoulder as I moved away from his equally annoying hand. His entire presence was completely annoying.

(Ab toh tumhari nikal padi bhai - Similar to now you will see a lot of progress or be successful)

"I am here because I deserve to be, because I have worked for it, strived for it. And I will be here only because of that, so please mind your words."

"Aww come on man, don't be angry with me now. Can't afford your anger, now that you are our indirect boss man. Boss ki beti bhi, and shayad company bhi.", he guffawed. He literally had the audacity to guffaw like the insolent idiot that he was.

(Boss ki beti bhi, and shayad company bhi- you got bosses' daughter and maybe his company too)

"I wont hear anyone speaking of my wife in this disrespectful manner. And Nikitesh, for once try to stay in your limits.", my voice hardened as I was moments away from snapping.

'Your wife huh?', something within my head tried to tease me.

Well, this was not the moment to be teased.

"Varun, I need your suggestion for the Karjat merger. Please come with me. And Nikitesh, the meeting's done and dusted. I don't really think Acharya sir would appreciate his employee being a pest."

"Thanks man. I was moments away from snapping at him. Badly."

He simply smiled at me - his usual bright smile.

"Anytime Varun."

We took the elevator to the floor our cabins were on.

"Accha Varun?"

(Accha - ohh)

He had a mischievous smile on his face as I turned to face him. Something must be brewing within that brain of his.

"Your wife huh?", his cheeky grin got wider as he nudged me with his shoulder.

"So?"

"I mean, being protective and all huh?", he continued with his donkey antics.

"So?"

"Finally the big bad Varun's falling in love huh?", he continued.

As I said, monkey antics.

This time I did not reply. My eyes did all the work with the glare they directed at him, and I think that was enough to sober him up.

He scoffed.

"Alright, won't tease you. You big grump."

And then he had the audacity to pout.

What were we? Teenagers or high school kids?

I shook my head.

But a few of his words stuck with me - love, falling in love. With her? With her.

But how can I?

I don't know love, never have. The way it feels, the way it would feel for me and for the person I would supposedly love. That warmth, the surge of emotions. I know nothing about it.
