Jimin leaned against the balcony railing, his eyes scanning the lively crowd below. The music thumped rhythmically, the lights casting vibrant hues across the room. From his vantage point, he caught sight of Taehyung and Jungkook, engrossed in conversation and laughter. A smirk played on his lips as he observed his friends, their dynamic infectious even from afar.
But Jimin had his own mission tonight.
He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his contacts until he found the name he was looking for. "Demon Cat" The grumpy gatekeeper who would rather be holed up in his dark office room than out at a party. Jimin sighed, preparing himself for the inevitable resistance. He hit the call button and brought the phone to his ear.
It rang twice before Yoongi’s voice, rough and low, answered. "What do you want, Jimin?"
"Hyung! Where are you?? I'm waiting for you to come… it's wonderful here.. You would love it." Jimin infused his voice with as much enthusiasm as possible.
“I'm still at home.. I'm still thinking if I should come or not…”
“Whatt?? Hyung… you promised me.. When I texted you.. How come you now change your words…” Jimin pouted…
Yoongi groaned on the other end. "You know Jimin-ah… I hate these things…"
"Come on, just for a little while. You might actually enjoy it. Plus, I miss you. It’s not the same without you here."
There was a pause, and Jimin held his breath. It's not a secret for Yoongi that Jimin has feelings towards him..
"Fine," Yoongi muttered finally. "I’ll be there..."
Jimin's face lit up. "Perfect! I'll be waiting for you."
As soon as Jimin hung up, he felt a familiar presence behind him. He spun around, eyes wide in surprise, to see Yoongi standing there, still holding his phone. It was as if he had materialized out of thin air.
"Yoongi-hyung.. What if someone saw you… !" Jimin's eyes brightened, and a radiant smile spread across his face. Without hesitation, he threw his arms around him, hugging him tightly. "You actually came!"
Yoongi chuckled, patting Jimin’s back awkwardly. "Yeah, yeah. Couldn’t say no to you, could I?"
Jimin pulled back just enough to look up at him, his eyes sparkling. "I’m so glad you’re here, hyung. Really. I was worried you'd stay locked up in your office forever."
Yoongi sighed, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. "You know me too well. I prefer my own company most days."
"But not tonight," Jimin insisted, his grip on Yoongi tightening. "Tonight, you're with me."
Yoongi glanced around, taking in the bustling scene. "Alright, alright. Let’s just get this over with. Where’s the bar?"
Jimin laughed, taking Yoongi’s hand and leading him into the throng of people. "Come on, I’ll show you. And who knows, you might actually have fun."
They weaved through the crowd, and Jimin's excitement was palpable. "Look, there’s Jungkook! And I might not accidentally setup him with our brand ambassador, Taehyung."
Yoongi rolled his eyes but allowed himself to be pulled along. "Of course you are… always trying to match make people around you.. But honestly, Jimin, you didn’t have to drag me here. You know I’m not much for parties."
"I know," Jimin said softly, glancing up at him. "But it means a lot to me that you're here. I… I like having you around."
Yoongi paused, looking down at Jimin with a mixture of surprise and something softer. "Jimin, you know I… I can’t say no to you, right? Even if it means stepping out of my comfort zone."
