Chapter11: Sunset and stargazing

*****

They watched the sunset at park and it was soon the sky was dark.

Now, Fushiguro — contradictory to Itadori , loves stargazing. He likes watching the sun fall below the skyline, and to see the oranges and yellows fade into darker hues of blue and purple. Gradually, the stars come out of the darkness. The soft blue light that hits the grass is Fushiguro's favorite thing in the world.

But unfortunately, time was running out and they had to leave.

They return to the hotel, meeting everybody at dinner. Kugisaki brought them souvenirs. And soon the clock was at 10pm.
They get to their room and everybody goes off to sleep — except our Itadori.

It's late at night when Fushiguro wakes up to a phone call. He jumps out of bed thinking it's something important. Maybe a mission or something related to his sister.

He checks his phone when the name "Itadori" popped up on the screen.

He looked around the room to find he was alone.
"tch, what trouble is he in again", he said to himself as he picked up the call.

" Itadori, where are you", the worrisome voice escaped his mouth.

"yosh yosh, Fushiguro-kun I'm okay", Itadori laughed.

Hearing his voice Fushiguro signed in relief.

"Now tell me where are you", he spoke.

"Come to the rooftop, will you?", Itadori asked.

"why so?"

"Just come up, i won't explain further." , Itadori hung up.

"Guess i have no choice" , Fushiguro murmered.
He could feel there's a swarm of butterflies in his stomach.

roof-top.

Fushiguro goes to the rooftop and finds itadori sitting there alone.

" It's two in the morning idiot, what are you doing here "

Itadori flashed him a smile and asks him to sit beside him.

" Look up", Itadori points.

The sky looks beautiful. So much so its tug something in Fushiguro's heartstrings. He couldn’t see Itadori well at that moment with the darkness surrounding him, but some sort of deep appreciation rushed through him, something about that moment felt completely different. He quietly observed  the sky above them. The vast, virtually endless beauty of it made Fushiguro feel a little small in that moment. Things were so fleeting in his little world, and he had to remind himself that despite it all, there were concrete things he could depend on.

The darkness is both a blessing and a curse, as Fushiguro's eyes soon stuck to Itadori's profile instead of the stars. But, as it is, the darkness consumes the man beside him, leaving only his warmth pressed close to Fushiguro's side.

Suddenly, Itadori  turns and presses a kiss to Fushiguro's cheek, making Fushiguro's heart skip a beat. It's  the first time Itadori had done it and it felt intimate.

“Thanks for joining",  Itadori says squeezing Fushiguro's hand before he let's it go.

Fushiguro was flustered, it was as if you could feel the heat rise in his cheeks.

"I..I no its fine like-" he got cut off by Itadori's laughter.

"You're cute", Itadori complimented.

"Hey you can stop now", Fushiguro spoke shyly.

More laughter from Itadori filled the air.

"Hey, Fushiguro-kun we're dating right?", itadori asked.

"Isn't that obvious idiot", Fushiguro looked away.

"Yeah just hard to believe that you'd like me back. Well I've just been a burden to yo-"

" will you shut up" , Fushiguro cut him off.

"Itadori", Fushiguro turned to him. " From now on we're in this together, okay?"

Itadori smiled.

"Fushiguro-kun will you call me by my name"

"huh", Fushiguro's heart beat was audible. "Sure but you do it too"

"Though i don't really like my name", Fushiguro added.

"I like it, it's suits you, Megumi", Itadori blushed.

" fuck", Fushiguro couldn't take it. How can someone this beautiful is his partner, he thought. " Thanks", he added.

"Thanks Yuuji" murmered Fushiguro as he leaned into a kiss.
