CHAPTER 17 CLAIMED

After I met Jason and the campfire thing, I have just been sitting in my room all day having the same question repeat in my head.

Who is my godly parent?

I'm not mortal, so that's that. But how do I have a godly parent if I'm from another dimension.

So I decided to go to the Athena cabin for some books and luckily I saw annabeth talking to one of her sibling in front of the cabin.

"Annabeth I have a question" I asked, she said bye to her sibling and turned her attention to me.

"Sure stellar, what's up?" She leaned up against the cabin.

"I need every book you have on Greek and Roman gods" she looked at me confused and thought for a second.

"Is this about what happened at the campfire last night?" I nodded to her question and she sighed. She took me inside the cabin and there were shelves of books.

Annabeth went to one of the bookshelves and started grabbing a bunch of different types of books. She kept on grabbing books until there was like three piles.

"The fuck is this?! Are these all on greek and Roman gods?" I was astonished by the books.

"Norse, Egyptian, and many more. I just want to help you" Annabeth said with a small sad smile on her face. I thanked her and gave her a hug.

I used my shadows to take the books to my room then I teleported there and started reading everything I know about the gods and what powers they have.

*4 hours later*

"FUCKING DANM IT!" I yelled in my anger, because I couldn't find anything about my powers and I know for sure that I'm not a child of hades.

I'm about to give up when I saw one last book in the pile of books. I grabbed it and it was a leather book with a symbol of a rose on it, I slowly opened it and on the first page was a small message.

I made this in honor of my late sister's wish, and so I give this to you.

Who the hell is VHBR? Is it four people or is it just someone's initials?

I've decided to ignore that for now, I turned the page read the table of contents.

The chapters were like 100-200 pages long. Danm looks like I'm going to be here for a bit.

All of the chapters were just names, but the last chapter was the shortest one, probably like 50 pages at least.

One name did stand out to me, so I went to the page that had the name on the top of the paper.

Darkalia

I like that name, I started reading her chapter and god Danm she's old 1400 years old, she might as well be a diety or a god. Just as I was about to turn the page I found a little side note in another handwriting.

I love her with all of my heart I really do but the decision she made had me questioning what the hell is wrong with my children - R

R? And her children? Could R stand for Rosaline? I put my finger on the page I was on and went all the way to Rosaline's chapter I skimmed through her chapter and saw that she has...7 kids?! Holy shit! How does she take care of them? My mom can barely handle two.

So Darkalia was one of her many children, but her three youngest children were demigods and her first four children including herself are goddesses. I went back to Darkalia's chapter to see what powers she has, and as it turns out her abilities include death, destruction, curses, all sorts of dark magic, and shadow manipulation. That gave her the nickname 'Queen of the shadows'.

I read more and more to see what I can find about her, I found that 400 years ago she sealed herself away after an incident that happened in Vermont during the witch trial era.

I feel bad for her, she probably lost a lot of people that she cared about during that era.

I finished her chapter and I have no words on how to describe how I am feeling right now. I put the thoughts behind me and thought of something, who made this?

I left the big house with the book in hand and saw a couple of campers surrounding something, I went over to get a closer look and it was Apollo and Artemis on the floor hitting each other. While chiron was trying to get them to stop I saw some of Artemis's hunters and apollos kids making bets and cheering on.

I was about done with these fucking gods.

After what felt like hours the twins finally stopped. Artemis went to her hunters, Thalia and me made eye contact for a quick second before I saw Apollo head towards his kids and gave them all a hug.

I saw will guide his dad towards where I was standing, he introduced us, so we shook hands and he must have noticed the book in my other hand because he froze.

"Do you know this book?" I asked, Apollo said nothing but gave me a quick nod. He might know who made this book.

"Do you know what the initials V.H.B.R stand for?" I asked again and nodded ounce more, finally I was getting somewhere. But before I could ask him another question his face went serious and he interrupted me.

"Don't get involved" it was all he said before he tried to reach for the book but I stood back.

"I need answers" I held the book behind me while he kept on trying to reach for it.

"I'll tell you what the V stand for but I will take that book" he offered but my stance stood firm.

"No there is something I need to figure out and so far nothing is working out in my favor, but this book is the closest thing to answers I will ever get. Tell me who made this" he took a sigh after I said that, he muttered something and I barely heard what he said but I did hear a little sentence.

"Serenity is this some form of punishment?"

Who was serenity? I pushed that question down and focused on what was going on. Apollo looked at me for a second before saying something.

"Vesper. The person who made the book her name was vesper but she died hundreds of years ago"

Vesper. It was an odd name, but at least I got the name not the full name but the first name. I didn't notice Apollo grabbing the book until I felt it leave my hands.

"Hey!" I yelled out but he wasn't listening, he was flipping through the pages like he was in some sort of intense thought.

"I don't understand how this got here but it doesn't matter. I will be taking it to Olympus where it will stay safe" ok now I'm pissed, I barely noticed the shadows moving all around. Apollo must have noticed because he closed the book and looked at me in shock.

The campers, Chiron, the hunters of Artemis, and Artemis herself were looking me in shock but I was looking at them in confusion.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" I asked. The seven including Nico, and Thalia walked closer until they stopped only a few feet away from me and kneeled down.

Soon everybody was kneeling down until the only people standing were me and the three gods present in camp. They only kneeled down like that when somebody was getting claimed.

Wait.

I looked up slowly and saw an image above my head  and it was an eclipse moon. I stood in shock until I heard a voice.

"Darkalia, Death, Destruction, Curses, Queen of the Shadows. Hail, Stellar Carter, Daughter of Darkalia"

I looked over to the voice and it was Artemis who said that, she was standing with Apollo, and Dionysus just staring at me.

After the eclipse moon symbol left I looked over and saw everybody looking me with different kinds of faces and the only thing I could muster from my mouth three words.

"What the fuck?!"
