Chapter 7

(By this time the others are on their way home again)

While Y/n had a chat with Jk, Sungho and Leehan talked about deeper, more serious matters.

They were walking a few meters behind the other two.

At first the conversation mainly went about school, classes and so on but soon enough the topic turned on how Leehan and Y/n met and the younger decided to be completely honest.

"Umm...", Leehan thought for a moment, "Actually we started talking bcz I noticed something strange with her seat..."

Sungho looked at him curious.

"Yeah? What was it?"

Leehan hesitated slightly.

"It's a quite long and...not so pleasant story..."

"I wanna hear it!"

The older exclaimed and the other chuckled at his cuteness.

"Well it's like this..."

And with that Leehan told Sungho about the whole situation of Y/n being bullied, the threats he overheard, the physical harassment he saw and the mean treatment she gets in class.

During his talking the older's eyes went wider and wider and when he ended, Sungho looked completely stunned.

Leehan could see tears well up in the eyes of his hyung and after a moment of hesitation he pulled the older in a hug.

He could sense Sungho swallowing back the tears and after another moment the older pushed him away.

Not hard or anything but the gesture was enough to slightly hurt Leehan.

He only tried to share some comfort.

They started walking again.

Sungho sighed.

"I'm sorry..."

Leehan looked at him expectantly.

"For what?"

"For getting so emotional...Don't know why...probs bcz I expected her to say something earlier..."

Leehan nodded agreeing but still pouted slightly about the older rejecting his offer of comfort.

"Don't be to harsh on her tho...I think she just didn't want to trouble you"

Sungho sighed.

"I guess that makes sense...still..."

The younger patted his hyung's shoulder comforting.

"It's okay Sungho hyung...You can be there for her now"

Sungho smiled slightly.

"I'll do my best!!"

They walked in silence for another couple of minutes.

Then Leehan decided to break it again.

"I have a question, hyung..."

"Go on", the older encouraged.

"Why does Y/n call you Hyung instead of oppa?"

His eyes widened when he realised how inappropriate that question was.

"I mean...", he quickly added,"if I may ask..."

Sungho's smile dropped off and he let out another deep sigh.

"I guess I'll tell you but...don't tell her I told you okay?"

Leehan nodded understanding.

"You haven't heard anything about our family yet, have you?"

The younger shakes his head.

"Well as every other person we had a mom and a dad you loved each other in a...well let's say healthy amount"

"After some time tho our dad fell for another woman and cheated on our mom with her..."

"You might wonder why he didn't divorce her. Well it's not bcz of his two nearly 5 and 7 year old kids but for her money..."

"He had lost his job bcz of gambling and drinking during work hours so if he actually left her where would the money for drugs come from?"

"Now you have to understand that our mom was a department manager in the company she worked so she made a good amount of money"

"She paid for all depts but at the same time she never blamed us and was the sweetest mom imaginable"

"One day tho she had to go for a business trip and left us with dad as she trusted he wouldn't hurt us"

"Well he didn't but it was the perfect opportunity to bring over his affair"

"Now you can imagine what they did inside our parents' bedroom and you can imagine as well which kind of trauma a 5 year old gets from the...noises"

"It drove her seriously insane and she was crying really badly"

"The word we heard the most was Oppa"

"After a while it stopped and still in utter shock Y/n left our room where in the floor she ran into our dad's mistress"

"As far as I know he never told her he had children so in surprise she asked him 'Oppa who's that?' while Y/n looked at the woman with teary eyes"

"And when her dad said 'just a piece of undeserving shit' her trauma was created"

"So to put it together: she hates the term oppa bcz of our father (who btw is divorced since 5 years by now) and his mistress"

When Sungho finished talking he saw Leehans mouth open in utmost shock, surprise, pity and many other emotions.

The younger caught himself quickly tho as his hyung's story ended.

"D-damn...",he ruffled his hair slightly, while trying to find the right words

"You have had....a horrible childhood..."

Sungho smiled sadly.

"Yeah...and nowadays I'm determined to make Y/n a better live but with what you just told me I feel like I've failed once again to protect her"

He lowerd his head ashamed.

Leehan sighed and patted the older's head.

"You might feel horrible as an older brother and honestly....I can't understand you 100% but know one thing....don't give yourself a hard time when things don't always go the right way"

Sungho looked at him again.

"For the fact that you said you can't relate to me....You're damn good at giving advice...Also seriously thank you for telling me about the bullying, I'll do better in the future"

He was silent for a moment.

Then he quietly added.

"And thanks for listening to this messed up family history....it means a lot to me...really"

"I haven't told anyone about this before besides a person who....afterwards left me saying I was to damaged"

Leehan's eyes widen again.

"No hyung that person was a meanie you're so strong even after such a traumatic event", he exclaimed.

Sungho chuckled sadly, looking at the ground depressed.

"Whatever you say Leehan-ssi..."

Yo what's up~ Lately I have always finished my chapters last minute and it stresses me a bit...If anyone has an idea how to change that pls tell me🥲
Anyway, I hope you liked this chapter it was a background story I didn't originally plan...it kinda just popped into my mind so Idk if it's realistic.
Also thanks a lot for the rising views I'm really really grateful you find this story worth a read, I'll try my best as an author now and in the future.
