A few weeks later, Kulthum went back to work, and so did Abdullah. Living their daily routine like they never went on a honeymoon and spent most of them together, living life to the fullest and just being happy with each other. Now that they both were back to their line of work, they spent less time together, and sometimes, they even missed seeing each other because of how demanding their jobs were. But the good thing was that they made the weekends their private time and come what may, they spend it together each telling stories about how their week went and how much they missed spending their time together. At some point, Kulthum wanted to resign from work and just stay home with her hubby with the excuse of how hectic her line of work is but Abdullah knew better than that and convinced her not to be lazy moreover, she wouldn't find it convenient if she stayed at home and left all her ill patients tend to themselves.
“A doctor can always wait for the patient, but a patient can never wait for the doctor” he quoted with his fingers. “Is that not what you usually tell Alia when she gives excuse not to come to work?” He raised a brow at her
“You know it is really hard not to agree with you when you use my words against me and kind of sexy too” she blushed.
“Well, I am always hard to resist” he boasted. They teased each other for a while before they decided to prepare themselves for work.
“Stay safe, okay? I love you” he kissed her forehead.
“I love you too darling” she said and entered the backseat while Khalid drove away. As soon as she entered her office, Alia bombarded her with questions she didn't see coming, and for a moment, her heart almost leapt up to her throat.
“Subhan Allah!” she screamed out horrifyingly shocked.
“Did I scare you? Good, very good” Alia glared at her with a deep, ugly frown on her face.
“Did I do something wrong?” She asked, dropping her bag on the table and placing her lab coat on the hanger.
“Are you really asking me? Where have you been? Did something happen to you? Were you kidnapped or something? What really happened?” Alia bombarded her with questions with her hands, akimbo. She was very angry at her and truth be told, she was right to be angry with her. Later time they spoke Kulthum sounded as if she was in grate pain and Alia almost ran mad because she called her back but it was not reachable she tried her best to keep it from Saddique and decided to look for her low key and when she eventually found out a little version of the story, she cried her eyes out thinking her friend was kidnapped or so. So, after many futile attempts to look for her, she decided to tell Saddique what was happening, and he said she was together with Abdullah. That gave her some clarity, and she left the matter alone, but before that, what happened?
“Bestie, for starters, I would like to solemnly apologise for ghosting you the way I did. I am sorry. I didn't mean to make you worry, but rest assured that I was together with Abdullah throughout my ghosting period..” she narrated all that happened between them from the day she thought she was being kidnapped to this day, and Alia kept quiet.
“Please say something” Kulthum mumbled, as if she had done something wrong and was looking for some clarity.
“Well, I am just happy that you are alright and jealous at the same time. You are so much in love with His Highness, and I am happy for you, bestie. I really am. Finally, I am going to be an aunt” she squealed softly, throwing her hands up in the air.
“Yeah, I am not sure about that yet, but I just hope so. So tell me something about you, how are you doing? Both as my sister-in-law and bestie?” A wide bright smile appeared on her lips even without the mention of his name. She placed Kulthum’s palm on her stomach, smiling stupidly.
