The chirping birds and gentle breeze waltzing away without a care made someone or should I say a couple, feel jealous? It's been a few days since their fight, but for them, it felt like an eternity, but still, they stayed away from each other, expecting the other to give in first. For Abdullah, it would be quite suspicious if any of the family members were to find out that his wife was missing and he was clueless about it. It wouldn't paint him good in their picture, Kulthum on the other hand tried her best to avoid him and thankfully it worked because the house was enormous and there were enough rooms for almost everyone around so she took one for herself and kept her distance today as it seems just like any of the other days, she snuck into her main room where she and Abdullah had been sleeping to check on him he was nowhere to be found. She roamed the place hastily, but he was not around, and it got her thinking, where could her husband be?
She left the room and began with her daily activities, first she served her father, she would have done so for her brother but now, he has a wife that would do all that stuff for him she went back to her room to continue her.. whatever she was doing, which was nothing to be specific. After spending almost all day indoors, it seems like Alia grew tired of the suspense between the two and barged into her room unexpectedly. Kulthum jolted to a seating position heavily alarmed, her heart beating like a thousand active drums.
“Alia?!” Her panic stricken voice called, Alia grimaced and bombarded her with a series of questions but then, Kulthum was in no mood to deal with her best friend that time so she just indulged her in other irrelevant things till she forgot what she actually came for in the first place. As they took their time away, evening finally came, and Alia decided to leave with the excuse of making dinner. She knew if that was the truth, Kulthum would never let her do the job alone, so she followed suit. After dinner, she eats her in her room whilst Abdullah eats with the rest of the family fully aware of the curious glances thrown his way.
“Your royal highness? If I may ask, where is your wife?” He almost choked when his father-in-law asked. He doesn't know now. How stupid and funny would he have sounded if he were to say those words out?
“She's resting in her room father, she's not feeling too well” Alia came to the rescue, though she went to find out what happend between the duo which she never did, she still found a way to save the guy's ass without even knowing why. The father nodded and made his way back to his room while Abdullah decided to pay his wife a visit. To reconcile. But she was not there. He waited and waited for her to be back, but she never made it back to the room that nightA few days later, it seems like he grew tired of the awkward situation between them and decided to put an end to it. He walked into her room, and thankfully, she was there. Was she trying to go to bed? He wondered. He walked up to her and sat on her side, calling her name secretly as if he was scared she was going to chase him away.
And she did.
“Listen to me please, I am here to apologise” he started. She turned the other way and ignored him, pretending to be asleep. He tried again till she finally gave in and heard him out. After explaining to her how sorry and miserable he felt the past few days and almost a week. She hugged him and told him to have his bath then come join her on the bed. And he did just that. A few days later, the family members saw them together, and then, finally, it clicked. They were not on good terms with each other, but seeing them together now proved one thing. They've reconciled. Well, good for them. That night, as they lay in bed quietly enjoying each other's embrace, Abdullah suddenly got a call from Mustapha, and he left because, as he said, it sounded important.
Abdullah and his important situations. She rolled her eyes, waiting for him to come back. She waited and waited but he never returned so she decided to take a walk down the corridor to see if she would be lucky to find him but she never did instead, she something or someone else caught her attention and she headed to the direction.
