Addie nodded, her eyes red and puffy. "Yeah," she managed, her voice barely above a whisper. "We'll be fine. We'll just... take it one day at a time." She glanced at the pregnancy test on the bedside table, her stomach churning at the memory of how she'd found it lying on the bathroom floor just a few moments ago.Draco squeezed her hand gently, his expression concerned. "Are you feeling better now princess? Maybe we should get you some crackers or something to eat. That usually helps with the nausea." He glanced at Hermione, who was still sitting on the edge of the bed, her expression a mix of shock and disbelief.Addie forced a weak smile. "I'm okay. Just a little queasy still. Thanks for the water, though." She took a sip, letting the cool liquid soothe her throat. The scent of mint filled her nose, and she closed her eyes briefly, grateful for the small moment of respite.Hermione stood up, her expression still a mix of shock and concern. "All right then. Why don't you two go back to bed? You can sleep on it and decide what you want to do in the morning. We'll be here if you need us." She hesitated for a moment before leaning in to hug Draco, her touch gentle and reassuring.Draco returned the hug, his own emotions a jumble of relief, fear, and excitement. "Thank you, Hermione. I don't know what we'd do without you."Addie lay back down on the bed, her eyes drifting up to the ceiling as she tried to steady her breathing. The mint-scented water helped ease her queasiness, but she could still feel the uneasiness in her stomach. She glanced over at Draco, who was sitting on the edge of the bed, his expression a mix of concern and determination."You know," he said softly, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face, "we don't have to make any decisions right this second. We can take our time and figure things out together." He hesitated for a moment before continuing, "I mean, we could even talk to the headmaster about our options. Maybe there's a way for us to stay at Hogwarts while we raise the baby."Addie smiled weakly. "That'd be nice," she admitted. "I mean, I love Hogwarts. I've always wanted to have kids here, you know?" She took another sip of the cool water, savoring the taste on her tongue. "But I don't want to make you choose between me and your career, Draco. I know how important that is to you."Draco shook his head, his expression serious. "That's not fair, Addie. We're in this together. Whatever we decide, we'll figure it out together." He reached out, taking her hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "And who knows? Maybe we'll be able to find a way to balance both our dreams."She smiled weakly, her heart warming at the touch and the words. "Maybe you're right," she managed to say before a fresh wave of nausea overtook her. "I'm sorry, I..." Her voice trailed off as she doubled over, her stomach cramping painfully."Shh, it's okay," Draco soothed, his hand rubbing her back in small circles. "Take your time. Just focus on getting through this." He leaned over her, his face close to hers. "And remember, I'm not going anywhere. No matter what happens, I'm here for you."Addie closed her eyes, grateful for the comforting presence beside her. The mint-scented water helped, but the nausea seemed to linger, like a persistent fog. She breathed deeply, trying to steady her breath as another wave of queasiness washed over her. When it finally began to subside, she opened her eyes, meeting Draco's concerned gaze. "Thank you," she whispered. "For being here, for being so understanding..."Draco smiled reassuringly, his thumb gently caressing the back of her hand. "I'm not going anywhere," he promised. "No matter what, I'll be right here with you." He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "And who knows? Maybe one day, we'll look back on this and laugh about it. Maybe we'll even find it kind of funny that we got through it together."
