jamie's point of view

seeing ellie's text that she was here while waiting to pick her up made my stomach drop and get butterflies all at once. i won't lie i am excited to see her

after trevor's fit of running around perfecting everything in the house i was able to get him to chill out for a second before we were on the road to lax to pick her up

"do you think we should play country music when she gets in the car?" trevor asks

"bro she was in oklahoma for like 3 months" i laugh out at his question

"still maybe it'll be a warm welcome"

"whatever you think will float her boat" i shrug as i take his phone and play cruise by florida georgia line

"you could've put any country song on and you choose cruise!?" he states dramatically turning his attention off the road to give me a look

"you literally listen to jazz i don't want to hear it zegras" i put my hand up blocking his face

"makes me feel fancy" he mumbkes under his breath

our argument was cut short by the sound of both our phones going off as we were pulling in to the pick up area of the airport

new roomies

ellie just landed see yall soon !!

i text her our current location and only a few minutes later we see her walking out of the doors. i couldn't help but smile at her. she looked beautiful

"keep it in your pants drysdale that's my baby sister" he darts his eyes toward me

"i didn't even do anything" i say as i throw my hands in the air in defense

"you're not very good at hiding that rose color that crosses your cheeks when you see her" he side eyes as we both exit the car

we both walk toward her before so engulfs trevor into a hug as they talked about whatever. next thing i know i was the one being engulfed

"jamie i missed you" she mumbles in my chest. i rest my chin on top of her head getting the faint scent of her hair products in my nose

"can you please stop having sex in the middle of the airport i'm hungry and want to show my sister her new room" trevor whines out like a child

"jesus trev i give jamie one hug and now we're fucking?" ellie side eyes him while releasing from our embrace

ellie starts grabbing her suitcases to put them away, but before she is even able to lift them up i softly brush her hands away from the handles before moving them into the trunk

"thank you jamie" she gives a me a downward smile to which i just smile back in response

the drive home from the airport was a karaoke fest for ellie. she somehow managed to get aux and during the duration of the drive proceeded to sing every song that played. trevor was making a fuss about it the whole ride but personally i was enjoying being serenaded by ellie though she may not have the most angelic voice

"im all yours and you're all mine" she sings, holding her phone up to her mouth like a microphone. i can't help but stare at her in complete awe, meanwhile trevor looks over at her then shakes his head repeatedly. before we all
knew it we were pulling into our california home

"so ellie do you know when you start your internship?" i ask as we all pile out of the car and start unloading her stuff

"i've been texting with one of the girls that id be working with. i still have to interview for the internship before i actually start" she smiles and squints looking up at me, covering her eyes from the sun with her hand

"well i believe that there will be no competition compared to you" i bring her into a side hug, more like a side squeeze

"well i don't know about that. there's probably a lot of people who want to do exactly this and i don't know maybe i won't be a great fit" she shrugs. i'm appalled she'd ever think so lowly of herself

"i can promise you it'll work out" i say holding my left pinky out

"i take my pinky promises really seriously drysdale" she eyes me

"i know you do smokeshow" a light pink color coats her cheeks as she holds her pinky out before both of ours link together. i can't help but feel small butterflies flutter in my core
