Unexpected Sparks

Chapter 4: Unexpected Firsts and Sweet Moments.

They were both speechless and smiling at each other, breaking the silence. Anastasia said, "Bellatrix, do you want to eat or do something?"

Bellatrix just smiled and replied, "I'm sorry for just staring at you, ang ganda mo."

Anastasia turned around and blushed. "Ha--tara, let's just eat," she said, stuttering.

Bellatrix pulled Anastasia by her waist. "Okay, let's go." Anastasia's heartbeat raced, and she couldn't stop herself from smiling.

"Are you okay?" Bellatrix asked.

"Yes, I am, Bella. I'm just hungry," Anastasia said with a pout on her face.

Bellatrix pinched Anastasia's cheeks. "You're so cute, okay let's go." They went to a fast-food restaurant and ordered some food. They talked and laughed while waiting for their order. "Here's your food, Ana," Bellatrix said.

They enjoyed talking while eating their food. After finishing, they got up to walk around the mall. Bellatrix couldn't stop pinching Anastasia's tummy.

"Parang nag-eenjoy ka na jan ha," Anastasia said teasingly.

"Oo, ang cute kasi eh," Bellatrix replied.

As it was getting dark, Anastasia said, "Di na tayo nakapag-picnic ah, next time nalang. I have a curfew din kasi eh," sulking a bit.

"It's okay, we can meet tomorrow, okay? Let’s hang out again tomorrow. I'm busy next week and I want to make the most of the time now while I’m not yet busy," Bellatrix said.

"Yeah, sure! Let's meet tomorrow," Anastasia replied. "Should I take you home?"

"Ako sana mag-sasabi niyan eh," Bellatrix said, pointing at her big bike. Anastasia was amazed and shocked. "You own a big bike? That is so cool! Can I ride  you sometime?" she said excitedly, then realized what she had said. "No! I mean, can I ride with you next time? Or maybe borrow it—something like that," she added, blushing and shy because of her slip.

"Sure," Bellatrix answered.

"I should go now; it’s getting darker, and baka mapagalitan ako nila mama," Anastasia said. She was walking to her car when she stopped and called Bellatrix’s name. "Bella, wait!" She ran towards Bellatrix and hugged her tightly.

That hug felt magical, and Anastasia couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear as they went home. She greeted her parents with a kiss. "Mano po," she said, showing respect.

"Kumain ka na ba?" her father asked.

"Yes, Pa, tapos na po, pero I'll eat later. Ano ba ulam?" she asked.

"Tignan mo na lang sa ref," her dad replied.

Anastasia went to her room, and her phone rang—it was Bellatrix. "Wow, miss mo ko agad, Bella?" Anastasia greeted with a tease.

"Yes, I really do," Bellatrix's voice sounded sad.

"Ohh, my cute baby, don't worry. Magkikita naman tayo bukas, right? Don't be sad na," Anastasia comforted her.

Bellatrix was taken aback by what Anastasia called her. "Baby?" she stuttered.

"Yes, you're my baby," Anastasia affirmed.

"I need a hug," Bellatrix said.

"I'll give you a tight hug tomorrow, okay? Let's sleep na, Bella. I'm sleepy na," Anastasia suggested.

"Goodnight, Anastasia. I love you," Bellatrix said. She waited for a couple of minutes but didn't receive a response from Anastasia; then she heard someone snoring on the other end of the line.
