The common room buzzed with activity as students bustled about, their laughter and chatter filling the air with a sense of camaraderie. However, amidst the lively atmosphere, Harry and Draco found themselves retreating to opposite ends of the room, their expressions soured by the weight of their newfound burden.

Harry slumped into an armchair, his brow furrowed with frustration as he recounted the events of Potions class to Ron and Hermione, who listened with sympathetic expressions.

"I can't believe Snape expects me to be tutored by Malfoy," Harry grumbled, running a hand through his unruly hair. "It's bad enough having to deal with him in class, let alone spending extra time with him."

Ron nodded in agreement, his own annoyance evident as he exchanged a knowing glance with Hermione. "I reckon he's up to something," he muttered darkly. "Snape, I mean. Probably hoping to stir up trouble between you two."

Meanwhile, across the room, Draco leaned against the fireplace, a scowl marking his usually composed features as he vented his frustrations to Blaise and Pansy.

"I don't know what Snape's playing at," Draco complained, his voice tinged with irritation. "Making me tutor Potter of all people. It's like he's trying to torture me."

Blaise offered a sympathetic pat on the shoulder, though a smirk danced in his dark eyes. "Looks like you've got your work cut out for you, mate," he teased, unable to resist the opportunity for amusement at Draco's expense.

Pansy, however, wore a more thoughtful expression as she regarded Draco with a mixture of concern and curiosity. "Perhaps there's more to this than meets the eye," she mused, her tone contemplative. "Maybe Snape sees something in Potter that we don't."

Draco scowled at the suggestion, though a flicker of doubt crossed his features before he quickly masked it with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Nonsense," he declared, his voice brimming with false bravado. "Potter's nothing but trouble, and I intend to make that abundantly clear during our tutoring sessions."
