-SERAPHINA-
The faerie handing out flowers was someone we often picked on—a harmless bit of fun to liven up the monotony of school. I thought of having Lysander and Finnian flirt with her while Thalasia and I pretended to be nice, just for a little while. After all, we were often called the mini versions of our parents.
"Alright, here's the plan," I said, gathering the group closer. "Lysander, Finnian, you two will go and charm her. Lay it on thick."
Lysander smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Oh, this should be fun."
Finnian grinned, nodding in agreement. "Piece of cake."
"And what about us?" Thalasia asked, her eyes twinkling with anticipation.
"We'll be friendly and welcoming," I replied, a sly smile forming on my lips. "Just for a little while. We'll compliment her flowers, ask where she got them, act genuinely interested. It'll be like one of those elaborate ruses our parents were famous for."
Thalasia chuckled. "I like it. Let's show her how it's done."
With our plan set, we approached the faerie. Lysander and Finnian took the lead, their confident strides and easy smiles immediately catching her attention. Thalasia and I followed, adopting our most charming personas.
"Hey there," Lysander said smoothly, giving the faerie a warm smile. "That's quite the collection of flowers you have."
She blushed, clearly flustered by the sudden attention. "Oh, thank you. I picked them myself."
Finnian stepped in, his voice soft and engaging. "They're beautiful, just like you."
I could see the faerie's cheeks turn a deeper shade of pink, and I fought to keep a straight face. Thalasia and I stepped closer, admiring the flowers.
"These are lovely," Thalasia said, her tone friendly. "Where did you find them?"
The faerie beamed, pleased by the attention. "There's a meadow nearby. It has the most wonderful flowers."
As she continued talking, Thalasia and I exchanged amused glances, enjoying the unfolding scenario. It was harmless fun, a way to pass the time and reaffirm our standing.
"How about we invite her to the party you're organizing, Thalasia? This evening?" I asked, my voice sweet and inviting.
Thalasia's eyes sparkled with mischief as she caught on to my idea. "That's a wonderful idea, Seraphina," she replied, turning to the faerie with a warm smile. "Would you like to join us? We're having a little gathering tonight with all the students, and we'd love for you to come."
The faerie's eyes widened in surprise and delight. "Oh, really? I'd be honored! Thank you so much!"
Lysander and Finnian exchanged amused glances, their roles in our little scheme playing out perfectly. "It's going to be a lot of fun," Finnian added, his voice smooth and reassuring. "You'll fit right in."
"We'll see you tonight, then," Lysander said, giving her a charming smile. "Looking forward to it."
As we walked away, leaving the faerie beaming with excitement, Thalasia nudged me playfully. "That was a brilliant touch, Seraphina. Tonight is going to be interesting."
"Indeed," I replied, a satisfied smile on my lips. "Let's see how she handles the real Elfhame party experience."
"Nice work, boys," I said, giving Lysander and Finnian a nod of approval. "Your charming performance was spot on."
Lysander grinned, a glint of pride in his eyes. "Thanks, Seraphina. I aim to please."
Finnian chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "What can I say? It's a talent."
