09. Second Exam x Mass Failure

   RUNNING ACROSS THE GRASSY FIELDS YOU PUT YOUR ARMS OUT TO STOP THE FOUR MALES. "Look ahead," you demand as the three males do as you say, looking at the large beasts on the field as hunter-examinees die by going head first into it all, blood splitting against the grassy green fields. "These are the world's most ferocious beasts— The Great Swamp," you say as others attack them.

"I'm telling you first so we can all get a hit." you say, looking at the boys with a stern look as they freeze, "their forehead. Hit the middle of their forehead," you demand as Kurapika blinks.

"You know a lot about beasts," he says as you smile.

"I'm quite fond of beasts." you say, "they're interesting to me, so I've always enjoyed learning about them. I used to spend hours at the libraries reading about hunters and beasts," you tell the blond and it's not a lie— you did enjoy learning about those things in your first life and you still like it in your second!

"We all ready?" you asked as the boys nodded as you ran and jumped off the plateau, the air forcing your hair to sway as you swung your heavy bag down and hit it on its forehead and watched it go down with ease as the boys followed in your suite.

Then there's your older brother using his suitcase to get the boars and you look at your bag and silently think to yourself that your brother has affected you more than anyone would ever know— in your first life you wouldn't have even dared to throw yourself into a pit of ferocious beasts, but this time around... you did it without hesitation.

"We could only do it because of you, [Name]!" he says, and [M/name] wonders if that's true. In her dreams, when she saw her child's first life, you never tried to put yourself out there. You were resigned to background almost your whole life and her heart aches to know that you couldn't be this way in your first life and instead became this way in your second.

"Still, it was impressive to see how much you knew about beasts. It must've taken years of studying to know their weakness— even I couldn't find anything about their weakness to prepare for the exam." Applicant number 404 says as you smile at the boy, your face slightly flushed and [M/name] wondered if you liked the boy.

"They were native to our island," you confess as applicant 405 nods.

"Right! Crescent Island is native to more beasts than Whales or Keystone!" he says as applicant number 99 blinks.

"You guys knew each other before the hunter's exam?" he asked as you leaned into Leorio more, rubbing your face on his clothing as you laughed.

"We just met on the ship ride to our exam," you say getting out of your brother's grasp as you carry your prey with you back to the exam site as the four boys follow your suit.

Turing off Gyo [M/name] sighs, her [S/color] hand resting on her cheek.

"Tell that brat Lippo to hand over the fourth exam or I'll ring his stupid neck." [M/name] says as Netero laughs at the woman and nods muttering about how funny she is.
