Draculaura and Mia were driving, they had found an abandoned car while searching for food and surpisinly it still had gas in it. they had to take Clawdeen with them since everyone else were going to places with ferals to find better supplies
Mia: your a pretty good driver
Draculaura: I know. remember when we found that other car a couple years ago? Selena taught me
Mia: well then she was a good teacher
Draculaura: I still don't understand why we couldn't have picked an automatic
Mia: because not every car is an automatic
she turned to look at Clawdeen who was playing with her shoe
Mia: how you doing kid?
Clawdeen: Good!
Mia: that's good
Draculaura: I wish the heater wasn't broken, it's getting cold
Mia: again, Florida! nice and warm there. it would be like summer every day
Draculaura: no kidding, it's freezing outside! the sooner, the better
Mia: no more winter's ever again!
Mia looked back at Clawdeen
Mia: we can teach her how to hunt, how to fish, how to swim, we'll watch the sunrise every morning, like a family.
Draculaura: I love how your bonding with Clawdeen. I'm surprised she hasn't called you mama yet
Mia chuckled
Mia: but anyway, we should head back and maybe leave in a couple days, or it's gonna be too cold to do anything. go back
Draculaura put the car in reverse, then turned around and started driving again.
Mia: maybe someday, you can teach me to drive and little Clawdeen
Draculaura: when she's older of course *chuckle* and I'd be happy to teach you
she looked in the mirror back at Clawdeen who smiled
Clawdeen: Hi Mommy!
Draculaura: hello baby- where's your blankie furball?
Mia sighs, unbuckles herself and digs around the backseat for it
Mia: you gotta start talking to us kid, who knows how long you went without a blanket
Clawdeen: sowwy...
Mia: don't apologize kid, you're not in trouble
Draculaura hit something and lost control of the car
Draculaura: CRAP!
Mia helped hold on the steering wheel as the car swerved left and right
Mia: Turn The Wheel!
Draculaura did and they crashed into a tree, attracting ferals. Draculaura opened her eyes and touched her forehead, it was bleeding. she heard Clawdeen's cries and snapped her head toward her
Draculaura: Clawdeen!? oh God, you're Okay! Mia?
she saw the passenger seat empty and what she saw, made her heart stop. Mia was thrown out the window and was lying in a pool of blood on the ground about 5 feet where the car was
Draculaura: MIA!!!!
Draculaura left the car and ran toward Mia who was still alive but in pain
Draculaura: Shit! Are You Okay, Mia?!
Mia: I'm Fine! *groan* I'm fine...
she struggled to sit up
Mia: is.. is Clawdeen okay?
Draculaura nodded
Mia: shit.. help me..
Draculaura grabbed her hand and tried pulling her up but Mia screamed so Draculaura let her go
Mia: Ugh! M-My Leg! I-I think it's... I think it's broken
Draculaura: shit...
Mia: I Can't Get Up! Damn It!
Draculaura: Just Give Me A Second To Think!
Mia: I can do this..
she tried to get up but it hurt to much
Mia: Shit!
they turned around and saw ferals pounding on the car windows as Clawdeen looked at them
Mia: Hey! Get Away From Her!
they heard her and began running at her
Mia: Get Clawdeen and Run! I Will Not Let You Two Lose Your Minds!
Draculaura: No! I'm Not Giving Up!
she grabbed Mia's hand but Mia threw her to the ground
Mia: Go Now! Don't Look Back!
Draculaura shut her eyes tightly and ran to the car, opened the door, picked up Clawdeen and began running away, hearing Mia's screams
Draculaura: *tears* Clawdeen... *sniffle* D-Don't Look Back! It's Okay...
2 DAYS LATER
Draculaura was walking with Frankie on one of their usual walks.
Frankie: still upset?
Draculaura: of course, we lost Mia!
Frankie: she wanted to save you and Clawdeen.
Draculaura: I know it's just.. I could have done something!
Frankie grabbed her hand
Frankie: there was nothing you could have done! it happened, you know how you get when your this upset, just don't take your anger out on Clawdeen
Draculaura: I won-
Frankie: I'm serious Draculaura! first it's yelling, what if you get so mad that you punch her?
Draculaura: I'd never do that! she's my baby and I love her more than anything!
Frankie: I know, just promise you will keep tabs on your anger?
Draculaura: promise
Frankie: good
they kissed each other when they heard noises. and like they guessed, ferals came running out
Frankie: get a branch, you know what to do
Draculaura grabbed a branch and stuck it in one's eye. Frankie wrestled with one but that got both of them rolling down a hill
Draculaura: Shit! Frankie! Hang On!
Frankie scooted away as he feral tried jumping at them but they found a knife on the ground and stabbed it's head just as Draculaura made it down
Draculaura: that was too close!
she helped Frankie up and they hugged.
Draculaura: come on, we can get out this way.
while walking they were talking
Draculaura: I was so worried back there. but you handled yourself. it just happened so fast, you could have lost your mind
Frankie: I'm sorry, I don't like it when you worry about me.
Draculaura: it's okay babe, you're safe, I'm safe. no one got hurt.
they continued walking through the forest
Draculaura: I don't know what I would do on my own, or if I'm raising Clawdeen by myself
Frankie: we just need to be extra careful to make sure we and she's okay. and you will always have me, I'll never leave.
Draculaura: good, I need you. I need you so much, so does Clawdeen.
Frankie: listen, if something ever happens to me, look out for Clawdeen.
Draculaura: and you do the same if something happens to me
Frankie held Draculaura's hand
Frankie: I promise...
