Lena sat in her small apartment, the dim light from the lamp casting a warm glow over the living room. She absentmindedly traced the pattern on the sofa, her mind elsewhere. She had been dating Johnny Gargano for six months, and although he was everything she had ever wanted—kind, funny, and incredibly supportive—she couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't enough for him.
Johnny was a rising star in the wrestling world, his name chanted by fans in arenas across the country. Lena, on the other hand, worked a quiet office job and spent most of her free time reading or catching up on her favorite TV shows. She often wondered what he saw in her, why he chose her when he could have anyone.
Tonight was no different. Johnny was away for a big match, and while Lena knew he was busy, the silence of her phone made her feel more isolated. She picked it up and scrolled through their messages, smiling at the sweet texts and photos they had shared. But a small voice in her head kept whispering that it wouldn't last, that he would eventually see that she wasn't the right fit for his glamorous life.
As if on cue, her phone buzzed. It was a video call from Johnny. She hesitated for a moment, composing herself before answering. His face appeared on the screen, sweaty and beaming with energy.
"Hey, Lena! Did you watch the match?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I did," she replied, forcing a smile. "You were amazing, as always."
Johnny's expression softened. "Thanks, but something's bothering you. I can tell."
Lena sighed, debating whether to share her insecurities. But Johnny was persistent. "Come on, tell me what's going on."
"It's nothing, really," she started, then stopped, realizing she couldn't lie to him. "I just... sometimes I feel like I don't belong in your world. You're out there, living your dream, and I'm just... me."
Johnny's face grew serious. "Lena, you're not 'just' anything. You're my world. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you."
She bit her lip, trying to hold back tears. "But why me, Johnny? You could have anyone."
He leaned closer to the camera, his voice tender. "Because you understand me. You support me. You're there for me, no matter what. And most importantly, you love me for who I am, not for the Johnny Gargano everyone else sees."
Lena felt a warmth spread through her chest. "I do love you. I just get scared sometimes."
Johnny smiled. "I know, and that's okay. But I need you to know that I'm all in, Lena. You're my partner in this crazy life."
A few days later, Johnny returned home, and Lena tried to push her insecurities aside. That evening, he invited her over to his place for dinner. She arrived to find the living room filled with candles and a table set for two. Soft music played in the background.
"What's all this?" she asked, her eyes wide.
"I wanted to do something special for you," Johnny said, taking her hand and leading her to the table. They enjoyed a delicious meal, laughing and talking about everything and nothing.
After dinner, Johnny took her hand again and led her to the couch. He reached behind a cushion and pulled out a small box. Lena's heart skipped a beat.
"Lena, I love you more than words can say," Johnny began, his voice thick with emotion. "You make me a better person, and I can't imagine my life without you." He opened the box to reveal a delicate necklace with a small heart pendant. "This is a token of my love for you, a reminder that you're always in my heart."
Tears streamed down Lena's face as she hugged him tightly. "I love you too, Johnny. Thank you for everything."
As they sat together, wrapped in each other's arms, Lena finally felt secure, knowing that Johnny's love for her was as real and unwavering as her own.
