Ricochet stood at the corner of the WWE training facility, towel draped over his shoulder, his muscles still tense from the day's grueling workout. He took a deep breath, savoring the quiet moment before he headed home. It was then he noticed her for the first time. Maria.

She sat alone on a bench, her eyes downcast, lost in thought. Her long, dark hair framed her delicate features, and her posture spoke volumes of the burden she carried. Ricochet had seen that look before—a mixture of sorrow and strength, a heart that had been broken but refused to crumble.

Maria was Seth Rollins' sister, and she had just moved to the area to be closer to her brother. The wrestling world was new to her, and she often found herself sitting in the shadows, trying to make sense of it all while nursing wounds that weren't visible to the naked eye.

Ricochet had heard the stories. A toxic relationship had left Maria wary and guarded, her trust shattered. Seth had been fiercely protective, but even he knew there were limits to what he could do. Healing had to come from within, and Maria's journey was only just beginning.

"Hey," Ricochet said, his voice gentle as he approached her. "Mind if I sit?"

Maria looked up, startled. She studied him for a moment, then nodded. "Sure."

He sat down beside her, giving her space. "I'm Ricochet."

"I know," she replied softly. "I've seen you around."

He smiled. "Yeah, well, it's a big place, but I guess we all end up running into each other sooner or later."

Maria managed a small smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Yeah."

Silence settled between them, not uncomfortable, but filled with unspoken words. Ricochet could feel her walls, the barriers she'd erected to protect herself. He understood them all too well.

Over the next few weeks, Ricochet made it a point to talk to Maria whenever he saw her. His approach was gentle, never pushing, always respecting her space. He shared stories of his own struggles and triumphs, slowly weaving a tapestry of trust between them.

Maria listened, sometimes offering small snippets of her own life. She spoke of her childhood with Seth, the bond they shared, and the pain of betrayal that had left her scarred. Each word was a step forward, a piece of the puzzle falling into place.

One evening, after a particularly tough training session, Ricochet found Maria sitting by the edge of the ring, watching the sparring with a distant look in her eyes. He walked over, his steps light on the mat.

"Penny for your thoughts?" he asked, sitting beside her.

She sighed. "Just thinking about how different this world is. How different people are."

Ricochet nodded. "It can be overwhelming, for sure. But it's also full of amazing people who care about each other."

Maria turned to look at him, her eyes searching his face. "Do you really believe that?"

"I do," he said firmly. "I've seen it. And I think, given a chance, you'll see it too."

They continued to spend time together, their conversations deepening. Ricochet never pushed, always patient, always present. Slowly, Maria began to lower her guard, allowing him glimpses of the person she once was—vibrant, full of life, unafraid.

One evening, after an exhausting day at the facility, Ricochet invited Maria out for coffee. She hesitated but eventually agreed. They found a quiet café, far from the prying eyes of the wrestling world, and settled into a cozy corner.

As they sipped their drinks, Ricochet looked at Maria, his expression serious. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure," she said, curious.
