Nothing Like You

Chapter 4

(Colin's pov)

"She has a kid?" My buddy Steven asked.

"Yea Sophia, she is amazing." I smiled.

"Do we know the dad?"

"He goes to school with us, Rickey Pierce."

"What was she doing with him?"

"It was a onetime thing, she had been drinking."

"And nothing is going on between them?"

"No, he's not really around much for either of them."

"That's sad." I nodded thinking about Sophia. I don't know how he could do that to her.

"Are they meeting your parents and sister?"

"McKenna is. I don't know if Sophia is yet." I haven't exactly told my parents about Sophia yet, so I'm hoping this will be okay.

"Alright I have to go get her, so I will see you later."

"Later man good luck."

"Thanks."

He left and I got in my car and went over to McKenna's. Hopefully today will go as planned. She will finally be meeting my sister and parents. I pulled up to her house and went to knock on the door, where Sophie answered the door.

"Hi Mrs. Morris." She smiled.

"Hello Colin, they should be down soon."

"Did she decide to bring her?"

"I think so."

"Colin!" Sophia yelled.

"Hey there's my best friend."

She came running over jumping in my arms giving me a hug.

"Where's your mommy?"

"Right here." I turned and smiled at her, she looked beautiful.

"You look beautiful."

"It's not too much?"

"No it's perfect. What do you think, mommy looks beautiful right?"

"Uh huh, momma pretty."

"Thanks guys, you ready peanut?"

"Yea."

"Go hug Nana."

I let her go and she went to Sophie while I got up, hugging McKenna. I would have kissed her, but Sophia is around. For now we were only hugging and holding hands when she's around. Sophia came over taking our hands and bringing us to the car. I got her in while McKenna went and got in, before I did.

"I'm nervous."

"You don't have to be, they will love you."

"Do they know I have her?"

"No."

"Colin." I groaned.

"It's going to be okay I promise."

"Better be." I took her hand and squeezed it to try and calm her down.

"Mommy it okay."

"As long as you say its okay, then it's okay."

(McKenna's pov)

I held Sophia in my arms with her arms around my neck and my hand in Collins. We walked inside and Colin pulled me closer to him.

"Mom, we're here."

We went in the living room and sat down. Sophia curled into my side trying to hide. His mom started to make her way to us, so I dug my nails into his hand.
