The 8th Tribe Revealed

Spirit sighed softly, lying on a beach as she sunned herself, her winglet didn't have a class currently, so they were either at the nearby beach or in the music or art caves. Currently, she, Wavegiver, and Avalanche were at the nearby beach. Wavegiver was swimming around near the bottom of a coral reef, collecting brightly colored seashells for a gift he was making. Avalanche, while not enjoying the heat of the sun, has been trying to bring herself to talk to Spirit about something... something that might ruin their friendship. Standing in the shade of a few trees at the edge of the sand, she pretended to keep busy by reading a scroll, trying to work up her courage as she admired the hybrid. The feelings in the ice princess's chest were something she had never experienced before. It made her stomach twist, her chest tighten, and her feel queasy overall. If she had eaten anything heavy she would be saying hello to her lunch. 'Come on, Avalanche, you can do this, just go up to her and start a normal talk, then try to find a way to transition to what you want to tell her.' Avalanche was grateful Spirit didn't mind her friends having skyfires, otherwise, Spirit would have known what she wanted to speak to her about long before Avalanche was ever ready to speak about it.

'Ok... here we go.' Avalanche took a deep breath, placed her scroll down, and began to approach Spirit. This was it, now or never. But, wait, what was THAT?!

Prince Abyss had had ENOUGH of his Mother, the Queen, her orders, and her overcaution in this matter. The dragon meant to reunite their tribe with the surface was HERE and NOW was the time to ACT! Grabbing another Abyssalwing, a larger one called Colossalsquid. And swam upwards to the surface, having Colossalsquid stay behind just out of sight. He was a unique member of the tribe, more than the tribe already was, his tail was covered in barbed suction cups, that being his gift of the sea, but he had another one. Using the air he collected from the ocean's water, he could form large air bubbles, large enough to keep a dragon with air, as long as he kept supplying the bubble with air. That was how he was going to get Spirit down to his kingdom. And he wasn't about to wait and waste time for her to agree to come. He had wasted enough time already doing things his mother's way.

Swimming up to the surface, having already scouted out where Spirit would be, he breached the surface. The two things he hadn't been counting on were Avalanche who was staring at him with a confused, and then terrified look as she saw his gift of the sea: his right arm from the elbow forward was replaced with a massive pincer crab claw. Strong enough to crush rocks and bend metal. And Wavegiver, who was just breaching the surface with an armful of beautiful seashells. 'Now or never' Abyss thinks to himself before launching, grabbing Spirit with one arm and putting his claw at her throat, snarling at Avalanche to warn her off.

"Spirit!" Avalanche shouted just as the... mutated dragon lunged for her, causing the hybrid to look up, only for Spirit to jump up, just in time to feel Abyss grabbing her and placing... something she couldn't quite see nor identify. Around her throat, and began to drag her towards the sea. Avalanche stopped, not wanting to get Spirit hurt, but she couldn't just let Spirit be dragged away either!!

'You,' the thoughts from the dragon who was dragon-napping her flooded into her mind, she didn't realize what tribe or even what Abyss looked like, having never seen him before, and still hadn't seen him, she couldn't even look down at what was against her throat, even the smallest movement pushed some form of ridges against her throat, whatever it was, probably a dagger if Spirit had to guess, was sharp enough to cause immediate pain with even the smallest pressure. 'You are going to tell your friend to back off, and you're going to come with me if you want her, and you, to live through this day.' His voice hissed into her. "A-avalanche stop! H-he is saying to just stop and me to go with him," she said shakily, the terror that was in her voice was unmistakable.
