Visions, Nightmares and a Possible Resolution

Spirit shifts in her hammock, sweat building on her forehead as she begins to have yet another nightmare. Unfortunately, a side effect of her prophet powers is that the nightmares would often be visions of the future, and this one? This one was one of the worst she's had. Spirit was standing on a beach, acutely aware that multiple dragons were standing behind her. But she wasn't sure who it was; as she was more concerned with who, or what, was in front of her. It looked like seawing except there were way too many fins. The fins were on the..... Dragons? Limbs, spine, chest, and even three fins on its tail! But that wasn't what made her terrified, oh no fins were standard on seawings so she would've just assumed it to be a genetic mutation of some kind.

What terrified Spirit was her two other strange aspects: the creature's eyes were a milky white, it seemed as if she was blind, and the ears of the creature were pricked up on high alert, listening to hear any sound made by the dragons in front of her. Her? Yes, it was her, a queen if the crown on the creature's head could be believed. The other of the creature's features that terrified her was that the queen had what seemed to be an angler fish lure on the top of its head, protruding like it would from the fish it was named after.

Nightmare Spirit took a cautious step back, the way the blind dragon's eyes were looking at her was unsettling. Suddenly the dragon launched for her, but before Spirit could react she jolted awake, trying to not make too much noise to not wake her two classmates; who were both sleeping soundly on their respective beds. Slipping out of the cave she goes to the river in the prey cave to get a drink of water to calm her nerves.

"Oh great, you are here too." A rather rude voice grumbled. When she turned to look at who spoke, Spirit was rather surprised to see that it was Falcon. "I'm just getting a drink of water," Spirit said, rolling her eyes as the larger skywing walked to the river and began to drink as well. Normally Spirit would've just left, but the fact that Falcon has been aggressive not only to her but also to the other hybrids at the school. She needed to know why. "Why are you so hostile towards me and the other hybrids?" She asked him, earning a rather harsh look from the  Skywing.

"Maybe I just don't like hybrids." He said simply, but a part of him knew that wouldn't satisfy her. "If you didn't like hybrids then you would be much more aggressive than simple bullying." Spirit began. "And I've only really seen you be a bully to me, the other hybrids at the school don't seem to be bullies, just me." She said turning to face him. After a moment of silence, he sighs and glances away, mumbling something under his breath. "What?" She asked, poking him with her tail.

"Before you," Falcon said, slapping her tail away. "My boyfriend was supposed to take your spot." He said looking at her. "So yes I'm a little unnerved with you being here instead of him. And don't look at me like that!" Falcon snapped at her shocked face. "You think just because I was rude to you I can't love a hybrid?!" He snarled, getting right in her face to intimidate her. "No, I just didn't expect you to be gay," Spirit said simply, shrugging. "I'm bisexual myself so I don't mind it at all. And if you want I can keep this between us, I know some dragons prefer to keep this to themselves in fear of being picked on." She told him, catching him off guard at the offer. "I don't mind if others know, but it isn't your place to tell anyone." Was all he said in the matter, glancing around at some of the sleeping prey within the cave. "Alright well, I guess I'll see you in class," Spirit said, brushing their wings for a moment before heading back to her cave to get some more sleep.

Falcon watched her leave, silent but thinking about everything that occurred. He hadn't expected the hybrid to not only agree with his choice of partners but also be bisexual. It certainly changed his perspective on her. Maybe she wasn't such a pain in the tail after all... he'd have to think about it. But for now, he could've sworn he saw a plump goat around here somewhere.

(A/N Heyo! Sorry, it's a rather short chapter this time around but with my college, it's not as easy to get time to write so I hoped you enjoyed this small chapter and I will be working on the next chapter soon! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!)
