A Dream? A Vision? A Warning?.... Reality?

Spirit couldn't sleep, those nightmares had been coming in more and more frequently. The details had changed each night, but their carnage was still gruesome. She shuddered in her hammock, deciding that if she wasn't going to get any sleep she might as well go for a midnight fly. Silently getting up she glanced at both of her clawmates, seeing that they were both asleep she left the cave. Heading for the entrance to Jade Mountain, her golden eyes glowed slightly in the silver light of the moons.

"Spirit?" Spirit jumped as a voice from behind caught her, as she turned around she could see the white shape of Avalanche approaching her. "You have been getting up late for a decent amount of time now, I know nightwings are more active at night but I doubt they are THIS active, especially since you're only half nightwing," Avalanche said, tilting her head as she looked at the hybrid. "Is something wrong?"

"I'm fine," Spirit said quickly, a little too quickly for Avalanche's liking. "No, there is something wrong, you jumped at that a little too quickly, what's wrong?" Avalanche said firmly, but there was a tone of concern within her voice. "It's nothing just some nightmares is all. Prophets can have nightmares that are just regular nightmares or possible, but not probable, visions of the future. At least that is what my mother said. But it's been so long it's a little difficult since we only have incomplete old scrolls to gain our knowledge from." Spirit explained with a shrug.

Avalanche thought for a moment, remembering a cold tea that her mother used to make for her when she had trouble sleeping, maybe she could find the ingredients or even order them. "Alright.... But you shouldn't be keeping those to yourself, I should know, when I was younger I was like that, it didn't help that I refused to share." Avalanche said, stretching a wing out to brush wings with her for a moment before walking back to their cave.

Spirit nodded slightly, sighing before taking off and flying around the cool night sky, the cold breeze always seemed to make her mind off of the vis- "Nightmares." Spirit hissed to herself, shaking her head as hard as she could. "They aren't visions. They CAN'T be!" She landed in an open clearing, sighing heavily as she took some deep breaths to calm herself.

Abyss had watched as the gold-and-black dragon flew out of the massive mountain. He remembered what the watcher had said. 'Night and sand..... Gold and black' He thinks this MUST be the one he is looking for, according to the scout she was the only sand-night hybrid attending the school. So moving quietly; a feat that wasn't easy since he was far more accustomed to swimming than actually walking, He stood at the edge of the clearing, just out of sight. 'Visions... one of the two signs of Soothesayer.' He thinks. 'Can you hear me dragoness?' He thinks, trying to project his thoughts onto her, but he doesn't know how it works either.

Spirit had bent her head down to take a drink from the lake she landed at, using its cool water to both calm herself down as well as splash her face, trying to force the horrid dream to go away- 'Do you hear me dragoness?' Spirit's head snapped up, looking around nervously. Who was that? She wasn't surprised that someone was trying to communicate this way, as she had never tried to hide her power before so anyone who looked would know about them.

Abyss couldn't help but grin as he saw the dragon's head snap up from the lake. She WAS the one, just like Soothesayer had said. 'Good you can hear me, what is your name? I do not like to make conversation with someone whom I am not acquainted with.' Prince Abyss thinks to her again.

Spirit didn't know where he was, despite her best efforts to look around the clearing to find the source of the voice. "M-my name is Spirit." She said, raising her voice a little to make sure that whoever was speaking with her would be able to hear her. "A-And who are you?" She asked, still looking around the clearing. She half hoped that whoever this was would show themself, but she doubted it.

'My name is unimportant to you and you would not know me even if you did know my name.' The prince thinks back, his once deep blue eyes now a milky white, the generations of generations living down in what they called the abyssal zone of the ocean. But still, with his advanced echolocation, he could see as Spirit turned around repeatedly to locate the source of his thoughts. The prince was certainly amused, From the tales passed down by his family Soothesayer could locate the dragon whose thoughts he was listening in on quite well

Prince Abyss didn't explain he was a prince, for the simple fact that he still needed to hide his tribe's existence for the time being, despite him wanting to fully introduce himself and get to the bottom of her powers and what her tribes were like today. But he couldn't risk getting caught and held for one reason or another,

"Well hello, uh, stranger," Spirit said, still looking around, she could feel someone watching her but she couldn't tell who or where they were. "Uh... what do you want?" She asked awkwardly, fumbling with her talons. She was nervous, the tone of her voice revealed that easily enough.

'To meet you of course. You are the only one here that I am speaking to, or thinking to if you will.' He thinks to her, watching her nervousness grow as he becomes more vague with his answers to her questions. 'I'm intrigued by you.' The royal continued, his answers not helping her nerves.

'Where I am from I have not yet seen the powers you possess. But since you are answering to my thoughts I wanted to see if you could impart some knowledge on me.' He continued, glad that he had thought up a plausible backstory. "O-ok, I guess I could, but why-"

"Spirit!" Tsunami's loud voice cut through the night air, causing the Abyssalwing prince to react fast and rather.... Strange. 'I will return for those answers another time, do not tell them about me.' he thinks before running off, Spirit hears the splash of the unknown dragon diving into the river, he could have swam away, but he didn't trust that the dragon he was speaking to would keep quiet either.

Tsunami walked out of the treeline, looking very upset and tired, as it was almost midnight by now. "What in the three moons are you doing out here?! You know you aren't supposed to be out of your sleeping cave! And who were you talking to?!" She glanced around the area to try and spot any trace of a dragon rushing through the brush and foliage but found nothing.

"I... uh... I couldn't sleep, I went for a fly and was just getting some water." She explained, a little nervous, but more confused than anything else she had gone through tonight. Tsunami narrowed her eyes suspiciously. Sunny and Clay had tried to be a little less harsh on her due to what her true dragonet hood had been, but she refused the different treatment every time they did, not that Tsunami ever did that. But it was for that reason that she knew Spirit wouldn't try to use anything as an excuse to get out of trouble.

Tsunami didn't believe that she was out here just for a drink of water, as there were plenty in the rivers in the mountain, Tsunami noticed that Spirit didn't answer the other question she had asked. Making it all the more strange that Spirit was out here alone. "Get back to your cave," Tsunami said, watching as Spirit nodded and flew off. Before Tsunami left she took another look around, but again didn't find anything. Stopping at the river she looked at the flowing water. "Mmmm..." She narrowed her eyes as she stared at the water, but she soon left, completely unaware she had just been staring right at the abyssalwing prince.

Abyss huffed slightly, swimming away back home, hopefully, he could meet up with that dragoness again. He needed more information about the above world if he was going to convince his mother that the surface dwellers weren't a threat anymore. Not to mention that he found the dragon that was prophesied by Soothesayer all those years ago.

Spirit walks back into her cave, climbing into her hammock as she does she falls asleep almost immediately.

When Spirit woke up she still remembered what had happened the night prior, but Spirit couldn't tell if it was a dream.... Or reality. What did he want? Why did he want to know about the tribes? And most importantly who was he?

(Hey there all who enjoy my series! This is a small filler chapter as I get back into writing after my college semester has finally ended and I have a good chunk of time before I need to continue with next semester. So I do hope you all enjoy it (PS, if you ever want to ask questions about the fan tribe my friend and I own, the abyssalwings, feel free to ask!) I hope you all enjoy this and will continue to write for a long while to come. May you all have the power of wings of fire!)
