It's the morning of my final medical clinical exams of my final diploma year. It would be a lie if I said I am not nervous about today. As usual, I do my morning routine, which includes saying a short prayer, making my bed, brushing my teeth, taking a shower, eating my vitamins, doing my skincare routine, and making sure I am hydrated by drinking a glass of water, as well as eating my breakfast. My mother made sure I got my own room in college, and it's a good feeling to have your own room. Plus, I really love it this way. I get dressed in my white uniform and my white coat and put my medical equipment ready in my small bag. As I head to the waiting area, I am still nervous. I hope that by the time my turn comes, I will be fine. I reach the waiting area and find my other panel members. I forgot to mention that I am literally the last person in my panel to enter my exam. To be specific, my last exam was Obstetrics and Gynaecology. It's exactly 7:00 a.m., as we were supposed to be there at that time. I see the examiners approaching us.

"Are you panel number 6?" one of them asks.

"Yes," we respond in chorus.

"The first person, follow me," one of the examiners says. Edwin, the first guy in our panel, follows him. The rest of us take our seats and w
ait for our turns. Being the last one, I don't know how to take it. I have to wait for 6 students, and my turn comes as the 7th person and the last in my panel. I don't know about other people, but waiting tends to make me more nervous, like right now. In about 45 minutes, the first person came out, and my other panel members rushed to ask him how the exam went. But he says nothing. He just looks down and walks away past them, and utter silence occurs among everyone, sitting and thinking of their own situation. The second person is called out, then the third, fourth, fifth, and they all come out with teary eyes. Everything I am witnessing isn't helping, considering my nervous and panicked state. Before I know it, the sixth person is called, my heartbeat rate increases rapidly, and to cope with the situation, I stand up and begin pacing around to and from the corridor. Right now, even those little self-affirmations to overcome the current situation don't work at all. As I pace around the corridor, I see someone enter through the corridor door, but I don't pay attention to the person and keep pacing around, attempting to calm myself down.

"Everything okay?" the appealing deep voice asks. I turn abruptly, and my eyes meet brown eyes, looking at me with concern.

"Um... Do I look okay?" I reply, darting my eyes away from him, my eyes wandering everywhere but on the man in front of me.

"Obviously you don't; you're waiting for your turn for the exam, right?" he asks, more like stating the fact.

"You're right, and I am definitely not in the mood to engage in a conversation right now as I am trying to do everything to calm myself down," I say, still avoiding eye contact with this man. I see him smile from my peripheral vision. But then he moves past me. I am about to sigh in relief when I see him sit on the waiting benches present in the corridor. I stare at him questionably.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"Come sit, we don't have a lot of time, do we now?" he casually says, patting the chair beside him. I silently obey and head over to the empty seat.

"What is making you panic to that extent? I mean, it's very obvious you're on the hook right now. It's a better idea to calm down as fast as possible," the man says in a calm tone, looking at me attentively. This time, I look at him.

"Well, my other panel members came out in tears and some with disappointing faces. How is that supposed to calm me down?" I tell him honestly while fidgeting with my bracelet out of nervousness.

"Will it help if I told you that in my last surgery clinical exam, I came out of the room with wet eyes, but it's the subject I had the highest marks in? My point is, your case can be different," he tells me. For some reason, that boosts my confidence. I smile when I realize I am actually calming down.

"Yes, it's helping, what you said," I tell him with a smile full of gratitude. And he smiles back at me. Did I mention he has a beautiful smile? Indeed, he does.

"What subject are you about to do now?" he asks.

"Obstetrics and Gynaecology," I tell him. He nods with acknowledgement. He tells me some important things that I am supposed to say, including things I was never aware of. We brainstorm as he asks me different things that are expected to be asked. Surprisingly, I answered correctly. We even start to talk about other things outside of medicine. I tell him I play musical instruments and I am a writer. I also learn that he finds comfort and refreshment in sports and games, and he is into horror movies and anime. I see the sixth person come out, indicating it's my turn next, his facial expression looking a little better than others before him.

"It's my turn now," I tell him, standing up, feeling way better than before, more confident than before.

"I presume you're okay now. Good luck then. Who knows, maybe you are going to be that distinctive gynaecologist," he tells me. I feel more hopeful. Something tells me I will never get over the last sentence, he said.

"Thank you so much for your help," I tell him, looking at him with grateful eyes. He nods, accepting my gratitude. I turn to walk towards the exam room. But before I open the door, I turn behind and look at him. I find him still sitting, giving me a thumbs up with a smile. I mirror his action, giving him a thumbs up with a smile. In that very moment, I knew that I wanted to meet that handsome stranger one more time.
