When I woke up this morning, August was nowhere to be seen. I assumed he left, but as I looked towards the table, I saw a bag full of fruits and other stuff. I moved towards it and found a note.
Good morning, I hope you had a nice night. I got an early work to do, make sure you eat the ,fruits and don't overthink so much.
August.
I smiled to myself, almost forgetting my current problem. I got ready and had my breakfast with the fruits. Today, I was looking forward to the lesson that perhaps I could see August again. But when the class came, our professor informed us that the laboratory technician wasn't feeling okay. My mind couldn't help but start to worry. I texted him, but my messages went unanswered. I made a mental note to go visit him at his place tonight. The day went fine except for the times I checked my phone every minute. When the evening came, I went straight to his place and knocked.
"August, it's me," I shouted.
"The door is open," I heard him shout back. I quickly went inside. I found him on the couch looking like someone just bit the crap out of him.
"What's wrong? Why do you have bruises?" I asked as I ran to him, dropping my bag on the floor.
"Shit happened," he replied lazily. I sat beside him and held his face in my palm.
"What happened?" I asked softly.
"She cheated on me. I caught her red-handed. I bit the crap out of that man. I just lost it in that moment, and I wanted to hurt her so bad for hurting me," he explained.
"And did you hurt her? Like physically?" I asked.
"I couldn't control it. I dealt with both of them. Like I said before, I lost myself in anger," he clarified.
"It's okay," I said, feeling it's the only thing I could say to soothe the anger in him. He began touching my white hair strands. Like a storm, Redverse floods into my mind, and suddenly I see him and not August.
"You see him, right, Redverse?" August whispers, our faces inches apart, and our lips almost touching.
"August... I... this kind of wrong," I whisper back. When he keeps caressing my strands and looking at my eyes.
"Why?" he asks.
"It's just I am not seeing you. I am seeing someone else," I explain.
"Well, I don't care," he replies.
"Unfortunately, I do," I tell him. At this point, we are almost kissing when the door bursts open, and I see somebody I wasn't expecting to see.
"Vee," I say, standing up.
"What in the world is going on here?" He begins taking slow steps towards us. I try to take a step forward, but August pushes me behind him.
"Do you think you can take her away from me?" he begins. I step past August and go towards him.
"Too bad, he already did," I tell him. He begins laughing, and I stare at him in confusion.
"We both know that isn't the truth," he says.
"At this hour, you leave your pregnant wife at home to come storm at people's apartment?," I tell him. This time, he smirks.
"Is that your behaviour, Redverse?" I add.
"Only if the apartment has the woman that's carrying my child."
