Redverse P.O.V.

My lips meet hers; it's a desperate and longing kiss that's how I would describe the kiss. We are both touching each other everywhere. The moment we both pull away to take a long breath, our foreheads touch. We both breathe heavily. My hands are cupping her cheeks, and her hands are around my neck. We stare at each other, I search for hesitancy or resistance, and I don't see any.

"Will you run away again after this?" I ask for the purpose of confirmation.

"I Don..." She begins. That's it, I don't want to hear that answer. So I go back to kissing her. She responds immediately. Everything happens too fast, and the next minute, her legs are around my hips. Did I mention she's a damn good kisser? I can't even get enough. I feel so high, and my heartbeats are going so rapidly. I really don't care right now. That night was different for both of us.

She is back to it again, running away again from me. It's been 3 weeks since the incident, and last week, she is back to ignoring me. Honestly, I am tired of her cycles. She will come around when she is sure. Considering it's my work break for the next month. So my flight is tomorrow and tonight. I plan to pay her a visit before I fly out. True to my plans, I pay her a visit. I actually have a spare key to her dorm room. When I arrive at her door, open it, and freeze where I am. She dared to bring a boy into this room? The blonde guy is just sitting too close to her and looks like they were about to kiss or something. But I don't give a damn. Plus, she is wearing tempting.

"Redverse, what... what are you doing here?" She asks, standing up.

"Glenn, can you please leave us? We will proceed another day with the lesson," she tells the blonde guy as he packs his things and leaves.

"Wow, just wow, so another day you're going to proceed with your little performance, huh?" I tell her, crossing my arms across my chest.

"We were just studying, Vee," she explains, her hands on her waist.

"So, he was the one keeping you busy, that you couldn't return my calls or answer my messages," I remind her.

"You sound jealous, Vee, for just a friend," she tells me. I stare, not believing her words. Just when we thought we were making a step, we're back to square one.

"Are you serious right now?" I ask in disbelief.

"I am sorry... but..." she begins.

"I get it, Cee. I just came to say goodbye. I got a flight tomorrow morning. Good luck," I tell her, stepping away from her.

"Goodbye? I don't understand. Are you leaving for good?" her voice indicating panic and worry.

"No, work break for a month," I reply, turning around.

"Vee, we are still friends, right?" She asks. Damn this woman.

"Whatever you want, Cee," I reply. Not waiting for her answer, I throw the spare key on her table and head outside.

The next day comes by so fast, the morning I prepare myself for my flight. It's so early, and I feel my phone vibrate, probably a text. When I check the message.

"Safe journeys, Vee. Don't forget to pray and greet everyone at home for me."

I just stare at the text and return my phone to the table, not replying. Half an hour passes, and I hear a knock. Who even knocks on people's doors at 3 in the morning? I go ahead and open it. My eyes meet those amber eyes.

"Cee, what the hell? What's wrong with you at this hour? What if something bad happened to you?" I scold her and pull her in.

"You didn't reply to my text, and I know better than to call you, and you wouldn't answer," she replies, looking at me with those doe eyes.

"That's crazy of you. What are you doing here?" I reply.

"Umm... I could help with anything you wish me to," she offers. But I am just so on edge with her. I definitely don't even want to see her. I head to the table, call my other driver. I asked him to come to my penthouse. In a few minutes, I hear a knock and go ahead and open it.

"Alex, thanks for coming," I tell him. Essence looks up, her eyes lighting up.

"Who is he?" she asks.

"My driver," I reply.

"Oh, I guess it's time you're heading to the airport. I will escort you then," she offers with a smile.

"He is here to take you back to the university campus," I inform her. She stares at me with arched brows.

"Oh, I see. Thank you for your concern. I guess you don't need my presence that much. I will go to the campus alone," she says, picking up her purse and marching towards the door.

"You're not going alone!" I shout at her.

"Watch me!" she says, opening the door and disappearing. I instruct him to follow as I head to the airport.

The flight surprisingly isn't long. Before I know it, I am home in France, Paris. A driver is waiting for me, and I greet him. Four days ago, my mother called telling me one of the twins was sick and discharged. They would have been here jumping on me. Once I am at the gate, my mom is waiting for me, and we literally run towards each other. She's short, so I carry her, and she showers me with kisses.

"My Prince is home!" she shouts. I can't help but laugh. We head inside, and since Dad is on his trips, I excuse myself to see the twins. I head upstairs and find a woman sitting on their bed. She is wearing nurse's uniforms.

"And you are?" I ask.

"Nanine, your little sister's personal nurse."
