The next day, Error looked across the ponds of those beyond, believing there to be a way he can use it to demolish Ink and his precious alternate timelines. However, he scoffed when he saw Bette lurking right next to him.

''still thinking of how to destroy him?'' Bette asked.

''got it in one, kiddo'' Error chuckled.

''you do realize asking a damn lake for answers is not going to be of any help?'' Bette critiqued. ''your only wasting your own time with no plan gained from staring into your reflection''

''SHUT UP JACKAS!'' Error yelled. ''THE POINT IS ABOUT POISE!''

''poise my ass'' Bette jocked. ''you think you can gain peace by just standing in a lake? It had to taken! Achieved! You can never just be given it. Because what would be the point if you wait forever on it?''

''idiot.'' Error fumed. Then he looked inside the lake. ''where does this all lead. What happens next after I finish destroying every au that remains? that's what I'd like to know.''

''well, keep staring all you want, breaker. Because you don't know what your purpose is when you just spend it all being a fool with your life'' Bette taunted.

Error fumed intensely, before eventually using his strings to get Bette out of his fucking sight. Good. She's gone. Now he can just sit and look into the lake to see if he can get anything meaningful.

As for our heroes. Or some of them anyway.

Ink looked inside his vial with a melancholic face. He breathed a little. How would he continue to feel emotions, without needing these vials? Then CORE Frisk approached.

''hey, Ink? We don't talk much anymore nowadays, but you need to understand that you can't keep running from what you plead. Frisk is being hunted down by 2099 Sans, and the multiverse hangs in the balance. So what are we going to do?'' CORE explained.

Ink looked at many of the AU's that were done. Green sans. Amongtale. Overtale. Funkintale. So many, and the infinite amount, and yet they were all under the threat of a specific enemy. One who wanted control all over them. But Xgaster was no longer the dominant foe to face.

There was something bigger..... But who would that be?

''look, CORE, thanks for the time. I appreciate it, really. But I still wonder if me lying to Frisk about there being no way I can turn may have affected things.'' Ink spoke. He didn't feel his usual cheerful self. He felt more... serious.
