Chapter 8: Wizards from Hogwarts

Peter asked Ned if he wanted to come see Strange with him in their group chat with Mj to give her a choice if she wanted to help or not, she obviously did.

So, now the trio is walking to the sanctum on the Sunday afternoon. Ned is radiating off nervousness despite going there all the time. His family has magic which made Ned have magic. Ned's an honorary wizard even if Strange says he's not a wizard but a sorcerer. The kids all ignored him though and soon Strange gave up.

On the way there, Peter was telling his friends what happened last night, early today? Whatever, he told them what happened at the Underworld and everything that came afterwards. They already saw the news so they knew some of what Mirrikh has been up to.

Peter also had to sadly break the news and informs his friends and Team Red that Mirrikh never leaves traces so there's no way to test his blood for powers. 

They finally make it to the sanctum and walk inside to be greeted by Wong who will get Strange. Peter feels a bit nervous at finally maybe knowing some new solid information on Mirrikh, he's definitely doing a better job than last year at catching him.

"Oh great, what do I owe the pleasure to you kids this time?" Strange asks looking defeated. It's not that Strange hates the kids but they always go to him when they have Wizard questions.

"We think Mirrikh could see into the future and maybe also the past, we aren't 100% sure but we have our theories" Peter rambles.

"Who?" Strange interrupts.

"Mirrikh, the killer that's killing teens?" Peter questions.

"Oh him, I don't deal with those people" Strange recalls.

"But if he has these kinds of powers he could be like a wizard!" Ned defends.

"Look, I don't know the identity of Mirrikh and he has never came up on my radar of someone with powers" Strange informs.

"What if he's a danger to the multiverse?" Mj wonders.

"Then I'd know a lot about him but I don't therefore, he isn't. He's just your average murderer" Strange claims.

"Unless that's one of his powers" Peter points out. "Like to go undetected or something."

"Somehow I doubt that" Strange replies but it takes two seconds too late for him to reply that Mj looks at him suspiciously.

"Someone went under your radar before, haven't they?" Mj questions.

"No" Strange lies.

"Your heartbeat says otherwise" Peter sides with Mj.

"Who?" Mj asks but it sounds like a demand.

"Please Stephen, he's been watching me recently I think. Last night I went to the underworld with Deadpool and DareDevil and there was a black cat that jumped out from an alley. Later that night on one of his two victims, there was a black cat carving. On his other victim was a knife carving. When I got home, May dropped a knife because she thought I looked half dead. He played like this illusion on her when I had no injuries. She said it looked real, like I was dying and severely hurt. I need to know who I'm up against" Peter pleads.

Strange is quiet for a moment but none of the kids says anything, letting Peters words sink in.

"Why does he target teenagers?" Strange wonders.

"Because they all have powers. He's an ex Hydra agent and his daughter killed herself after too many tests and experiments. They gave her powers and she died because it was too overbearing and she wanted it to end. He's making sure Hydra can't take any other mutated teens because those are the ones who were successful enough to have their powers and not die" Peter explains before sighing. "He's coming after me as well."
