The air felt cold and clean in Michael's lungs, and he sighed with relief, making his way away from the kissing couples near the doors of the warehouse and into the darkness of the night. The sun had now completely hidden behind the tree-covered horizon, and the field and surrounding forested area were completely immersed in darkness. Someone pulled into the parking lot, and the beam of their headlights illuminated a single, solitary picnic table at the edge of the field. It's wood look semi-rotted and it's chocolate brown paint was peeling, but Michael made his way towards it and sat down at it anyway, facing the warehouse.
He leaned back and stared up at the sky, an endless black canvas. The stars sparkled innocently, and there were so many of them that Michael couldn't count them if he had his whole life to do so.
His thoughts were interrupted by someone sitting down in front of him, and he looked away from the sky. Ari looked at him guiltily.
"I'm sorry." She whispered.
"For what?" Michael asked, confused.
"For forcing you to come with me. For trying to make you dance. I was being selfish."
"No you weren't," Michael sighed. "You just wanted to show me the cool things about this place."
Ari looked down at her hands.
"I just...don't like parties." Michael repeatedApril 25th, 2016 - The end of this chapter somehow got deleted, and I'm not even going to bother rewriting it because I first wrote it a long time ago and I know there's no way I'll be able to recreate it exactly how it was. So just know that this chapter is incomplete, but it wasn't that important. They just talk, and Michael notices that Ari always quotes people or says interesting facts and that kind of thing.
