Vikram finished packing his bags and went downstairs to his father's office.

"Dad?" Said Vikram as he saw his dad finishing up paperwork.

"Vikram! What is it?" Asked Varun.

"Taylor And I with a bunch of our friends are going on a trip to the Rocky Mountains for the weekend. I would have to leave tonight? I'll make the driver leave me at the airport!" Said Vikram

"This sounds a bit last minute and risky. Vikram are you sure it's safe?" Asked Varun.

"It's 100% safe. There's parents and Taylor's cousins with us. So it's just gonna be.... A summer trip with our friends!" Said Vikram.

"Look...all this sounds really last minute...but you got really good grades this year and your summer is pretty bland this time around...fine. You can go BUT CALL ME WHEN YOU GET TO THE PLACE." said Varun

Vikram thanked Varun and left the floor.

As the sun started setting and the bio-dome lights started turning on, Vikram left the Residency Headquarters in the company car with his baggage. Vikram paid the driver and bought his silence from telling his father anything about this secret military base he was headed to. Vikram was nervous, he felt a bit of remorse and anxiety while leaving. He kept having conflicting emotions of whether he should've lied and left, or should've taken up the challenge but it was too late to make any sudden decisions. The flight had flown and there was no going back.

They reached the highway that left from Los Angeles to Elsinore. The road was blocked by barricades, army officers, and a high voltage security fence with a large gate. Ever since the dinosaurs escaped to mainland, different countries and cities have started to place soldiers and army officers on the highways leaving and entering different cities. This was to stop poaching and transportation of illegal animals and dinosaurs. The security fence and gate was to keep out any dinosaurs from entering a new district. The soldiers were wearing gas masks and held lethal weapons in their hands.

A little left to the gate, there was a ginormous siren. If any dinosaur was sighted on a city border, the sirens would alert and a mass city lockdown would be initiated leading to people locking themselves in their homes, It looked like a post-apocalyptic world. Humans were no longer on top of the food chain, and there's nothing anyone could do about it.

"May I see your license and registration papers?" The officer asked wearing a hazmat suit. He alerted a cop to look through the car's trunk and seats. Vikram looked to the right of the car through the window and there were gas dispensers.

"What are those?" Vikram asked the officer as the driver handed the car's papers.

The officer stayed silent as he flipped through the pages not looking at him once. The cop noticed what he'd asked as he was checking the back seat.
"Neuro-suppressors. They were designed by PharmaCo. last year. They shut down the animal's central nervous system and put them in a permanent induced coma."

"Isn't that a bit.... Cruel?" He asked.

"When you consider the type of pandemic we have on our hands, and the type of monstrous creatures these elite companies cooked up in their geek labs, this is in all honesty... a bit tame". The cop said as he shut the door and assured the officer that everything was clear.

The officer handed the papers back to the driver and let him through the gates. The lights on the sides blinked bright red and the hard metal wired gates slowly opened, letting them through to Elsinore.

As Vikram steps out of his car, he notices a ton of lights, cars, trucks, and crates.
