As the thick night-time fog covered the premises and the deciduous forests around the Mayan pyramid, the team of three climbed up to the crown of the pyramid for the night away from rest of the fauna. As everyone else settled down to relax, Vikram couldn't sleep cuz of his mind constantly running around in circles. The same thought turning into something else, running for miles and then coming back to the same question, "am I doing the right thing?"Although he knew that MantahCorp had more sinister intentions, he still couldn't think of his father as the right person. His heart was convinced that he was having legitimately reasonable feelings. Right or wrong, his actions were justified but even that belief he'd developed started getting tainted. Spiralling for hours in his own mind he started to fall asleep. Closing his eyes then snapping open, then slowly closing back again. Suddenly, he heard a loud hiss outside. Waking up in sudden confusion, he decided to go outside slowly to check what was going on.
The entire view was covered in opaque thick mist and fog. He couldn't see anything anywhere. He could see the grass on the ground to a certain radius but everything around that was pale white. He saw silhouettes of some trees in the distance. He decided to look behind the pyramid. In the distance he saw a few abnormally giant pillars built near the pyramid.
"What is that?" he said quietly while focusing and squinting as much as possible the moment he saw a silhouette of something on the pillar.
"It's slithering... that's a head and that's a... oh god." said Vikram while slowly widening his eyes as he quietly but quickly ran back indoors to two of them."Guys.. guys... we need to leave." said Vikram as he woke both of them up.
"Ugh. What is it" said Jane in a sedated angry tone.
Zach still sleeping while rolling around"It's a Titanoboa. We need to lea-"
The most gut wrenching, disgusting, and mortifying roar with some hiss could be heard from outside the pyramid.Zach woke up from his sleep with the most terrified face ever seen.
"A Titanoboa-? I thought this park didn't have those..." said Zach in confusion and terror while breathing heavily.Everyone got up as soon as possible.
"We're safe inside. It would make absolutely no sense to go outside right now." said Zach. Right after he finished speaking, the Titanoboa slithered across the door of the entrance into the pyramid hissing faintly. Everyone's face looked like they woke up in the worst nightmare imaginable.
Zach saw how the Titanoboa moved around the pyramid. It wasn't looking for prey or food. That's when it clicked, his face drained of light.
"It's a nest..." he said with his eyes wide open.
"What do we do now?" Asked Jane.
"Just lay low. This pyramid is its nest. Forget what I said, we need to leave this place now or else it will come in if it senses us." Said Zach.
Everyone packed their bags and slowly went out of the pyramid when the snake cleared their path. Walking on crisp grass was near impossible to all of them while keeping cover and being quiet in the dead of night but due to the fog being so thick, Vikram lost rest of the two from their path. Anxiously breathing he started walking in a random direction hoping he'll come across the rest. Walking further and further, he came across a large scaly slithering body of the Titanoboa in front of him. His eyes widened in absolutely terror. His mind had switched itself off from the fear of this creature. Being so mortified, Vikram started running in the other direction, just as the crispy grass started making loud noises, the Titanoboa saw him running away. A human can never outrun a Titanoboa but by the time she saw Vikram, he had been far away. As he ran, he saw a bright red burning flare in the distance. He ran as fast as possible with the Titanoboa catching up to his speed faster and faster till he finally reached a door in a giant Boulder to the side of the pyramid where they shut the door as soon as he entered leaving the boa outside.
