You looked at yourself in the mirror with slight disgust and irritation.
You bought a new shirt recently and thought it'd look good on you... But all you could think about was how fat you looked. Was the mirror a lie? or was it a painful truth?
Even after weeks of working out and strict diets, you still looked like this. You were still you. But this is different from who you wanted to be.
Why was it not working?
You let out an annoyed sigh as you dropped yourself on the bed. You started brainstorming ideas on how to lose weight quickly, despite how slim you already were. But you don't think that way, do you?
Suddenly, a knock came from your bedroom door. It broke you off from your train of thought.
"Hey Y/N? Can I come in?"
A familiar voice rang in your ear.
Oh, it was Chuck. Your beloved boyfriend.
He's the only one who's keeping you from completely losing your mind.
He would shower you with compliments every day. However, every word passes through you from one ear to another.
Sure, you felt loved by him, but it never helped you love yourself.
How did he get into your house, you may ask? Well, you gave him a spare key the other day so he could crash in whenever he liked, which is every day.
"Yeah, sure."
You tried to sound as happy as you could, despite how hurt you were. You didn't want to worry, Chuck, after all. It's for the best.
Chuck slowly opened the door and rolled his way in.
You turned around and spotted your beloved in a wheelchair.
"Where's your train, babe?" Said Y/N as you slowly walked over to where Chuck was.
"Oh, it's much too big to fit in your house, dear... I have to use this for now."
Chuck chuckled softly as he slowly examined your room. He first admired the pictures of you two together on the wall before shifting his direction toward you.
He thought you looked cute in the new shirt you just bought.
Y/N sat down on the bed and sighed softly.
"So... What brings you here, my love?"
Chuck rolled towards you and gave you a gentle gaze, placing his palms on yours.
"I haven't seen you in a while, that's all."
You rolled your eyes.
"You were here yesterday, silly..."
Chuck smiled nervously as he scratched the back of his head with his other hand.
"That's not what I meant!"
Y/N raised an eyebrow, curious to know what Chuck was implying.
"You know, dear... You've been working out a lot lately."
You could feel your body tensing up, but you quickly calmed yourself down. Chuck picked up on that. Now he was even more concerned about you.
"Mhm?"
That was all you could mutter out. You were too focused on keeping your composure.
"And... I'm just concerned for you. I know exercising is good for you, but... You're kind of overworking yourself. Plus, you've been eating less lately. Are you okay, dear? Is there something bothering you?"
