「 ⌕ 」Supportive - Gray x Reader [REQUEST]

Today is the day! Gray was going to act on the grand stage, and he has formally invited you to watch. Well, of course he’ll ask you to come - you’re his partner! And you were more than excited to see him perform. 

Gray had been rehearsing and practicing for months. He poured his heart and soul into it. Being his biggest supporter throughout this journey, you couldn’t miss this for the world.

The curtains will be lifted any second now. Meanwhile, Gray stood backstage with nerves and excitement mingling. He glanced at his phone one last time, admiring the photo of you two together as his lock-screen wallpaper, trying to keep himself in ease. He hates to admit it, but he's actually really nervous right now. What if something bad happens during the show? What if he slips and makes a fool out of himself? Anything could happen!
 
He takes a deep breath as he tries to push away all his worries. He recalls what you told him before you both left home.

‘Don’t worry so much... Focus on doing your absolute best! That way, you'll be more confident about all this!’

Gray chuckled softly as he thought of the flashback. You were always there for him when he needed it the most, and that's why he loves you. He loves the way you cheer him up on his gloomy days, especially if one of your performances didn't go well. He loves the way you cheer for him, even for the smallest things. You were like the little ball of sunshine that lit up his grey skies. 

Suddenly, loud cheers and claps blasted from behind the curtains. It was a sign that the show was about to begin. Gray tossed his phone away, put on his hat and prepared himself for the best night of his life.

The curtains were lifted, and Gray was greeted with thousands and thousands of people all staring right at him, eager to watch him perform.

Gray could feel his heart racing. He wasn't very fond of large audiences, but he eventually calmed down when he spotted you nearby. You booked a seat right by the stage, just so you could watch him as close as possible. 

You blew a small kiss towards Gray, which caused him to giggle a little. A small red tint appeared on his cheeks but eventually faded away as he needed to keep his composure. Though, you could sense that he definitely needed that.

The orchestra started playing, signifying that the show had begun.

Gray started his performance dressed in his renowned classic mime costume. He commenced by doing his most iconic act: "being trapped in an invisible box." A cliche, but definitely a classic. 

His face had become the canvas, and his ephemeral facial expressions and over-exaggerated actions were the paint brushes, creating a dramatic effect in his performances. 

‘He’s so talented.’

These words were the only thing you could think of as you watched him in awe.

The crowd’s eyes bulged with amazement when Gray tried to break free off the imaginary barriers through sheer muscle only to simulate escaping through an intangible rope. After a triumphant escape, Gray receives enthusiastic applause, taking a bow and preparing for the next part of the act.
 
This went on for another hour. Gray’s graceful moves and humorous acts received the adoration of everyone in the room.

But his best-selling performance was his teleportation act.

He had somehow created a portal beneath him and was able to teleport anywhere across the threat. Whether it was on the ceiling, on the side of the walls, or even in between the crowd, it all seemed unreal. Your favourite part was when he handed you a rose as he had teleported next to you. You saw it coming, but it still definitely made you blush. 

Overall, the audience loved his performance! 

As the show came to an end, cheers and claps filled the auditorium, all praising Gray’s fantastical performance. By the end of his act, he was overwhelmed with emotions. However, nothing could compare to the way you stood and cheered for him. You were practically about to burst from your seat!

His eyes become watery at the sight of your admiration for him as a wide smile plasters on his face.

Gray stood outside of the theatre, waiting for your arrival. The show had ended, but the night had not. Gray decided to treat you to dinner to show his gratitude for being there for him. He wanted to make you feel extra special tonight. 

You burst out of the door with your arms spread wide open, calling out for your lover.

“GRAYYYYY!!”

Gray turned around and was greeted by an adoring sight. It was you! He was looking forward to seeing your gorgeous self all night. As the wave of love came crashing over you two, you found yourself in the warmth of his arms. Gray lifted you up gently in the air and spun around, causing you to laugh as you both enjoyed the moment.

As Gray placed you back down on your feet, he slid his arms around your waist.

“Shall we head to this new fancy restaurant downtown? Don't worry… I already booked a reservation,” said Gray, as he tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear.

You rested your head on his shoulder and chuckled softly. Gray seems to be more comfortable communicating with you now. When you two first started dating, he had trouble speaking with you as he was quite loyal to his role as a mime. It's not that he doesn't want to talk with you... he's just extremely dedicated in what he loved most. But, your love was able to push him out of his comfort zone.

You snapped out of your mind as you realized that he was taking you to the new fancy restaurant that just opened - and that place is not cheap!

“Honey wait...! I heard that place is expensive, are you sure you want to take me there?”

Gray gently nodded as he grabbed a hold of your hand.

"Hahaha of course… Let me treat you tonight. You deserve it for being my one and only.”

You could've sworn you felt butterflies tingling in your stomach as Grey’s gentle voice passed through your ears. He's such a gentleman.

As you both made your way towards the restaurant, you could've swore you heard Grey mumble something but didn't quite catch what he had said.

“Did you say something, my dear?”

Grey chuckled softly at your question as he got closer to your ear... a bit too close. You could feel his hot breath warning up your ears, sending a spark around your body, and warming up your cheeks.

“Thank you for being the love of my life, Y/N.”

Your already red cheeks became even redder, causing you to look away in embarrassment. Such a simple statement, but it's able to make your heart go crazy!

“Y-you’re welcome…!”

You were too flustered to say any more, but your reaction was more than enough for Gray. At that moment, he had fallen in love with you even more.
