「 𓍊𓋼 」Mushrooms - Cordelius x Reader [REQUEST]

After long hours of paperwork and labor, Y/N needed a break. You wanted to clear your mind and freshen up yourself, so you decided to take a stroll around the mystical forest.

It is an odd destination indeed, but the nature there is wonderful. The exotic flowers to the tall and mysterious trees, it's just what you need to get your mind off your work.

You've heard of its dangers and were aware of its risks, but you couldn't care less. You needed an adventure.

As you make your way through the thick forest, you let your eyes explore around and appreciate its flora. Wrapped in never-ending dusk, dark trees boasting iridescent leaves and silvery bark form a glittering canopy. Shining streams flow through vivid underbrush, while bioluminescent flowers and moss adorn the forest floor. It was breathtaking.

You decided to head in deeper... and deeper. You weren't sure which path you were taking, but nothing was stopping you from this risk-taking step. Suddenly, you heard a soft crunch beneath your feet.

'Oops.'

You lifted your foot and noticed a strange blue mush coating your shoes. It had a weird stench to it. Though, the more you try to examine it, the more light-headed you begin to feel. You could feel your vision turning cloudy as a wave of dizziness washed over you. Your legs felt weak, causing you to stumble onto the ground. You try to get back up, but the fog clogging up your mind is pushing you down. Eventually, your world begins to fade away as you collapse onto the ground, unaware of what will happen to you.

Y/N blinked groggily as your vision came back into focus. You don't know how long it has been. It could've been minutes, hours... or even days! As you try to stand up, your head starts pounding in pain. It was as if someone was using your brain as a drum right now. The wave of nausea seems to keep crashing and crashing. You let out a groan before feeling a light force pushing you back onto the ground.

"Hey! Lay down, otherwise you'll be in even more pain!"

You hear someone, but you aren't able to tell who it is or what it is. Whoever was next to you right now sounded... incomprehensible. All you could hear was a high-pitched muffle filling up your ears.

'What a unique... voice.'

You adjusted your vision towards the individual next to you and it seems to be... a mushroom? It was a short man in dark clothing, but he also had a large purple mushroom on his head. Oh, it was his mask.

"W-wh..."

You started coughing uncontrollably before you could even say a word. The mushroom-man started freaking out and handed you a leaf containing water... at least you think it is.

Regardless, you chugged it all down and felt your dry throat gradually disappearing. You let out a sigh of relief as you wiped the cold sweat off your shoulder. You feel much better now, but you still feel a bit droopy.

"T-thank you... May I ask who you are?"

Your throat was still hurting and you sounded a bit raspy, but you were eager to know who your savior was.

"Oh! I'm Cordelius, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Cordelius started jumping in happiness as he lent his hand out for you to shake. He was very cheerful for someone who was drowned in dark attire. You both shared a firm handshake before Cordelius helped you get back up on your feet.

In Cordelius' mind, he felt like he was going to scream! He couldn't believe that someone as beautiful as you was talking to him... He was so mesmerized by your looks. He thought you were prettier than all of the flowers in the forest.

You were the prettiest flower he had ever seen.

Not wanting to weird you out, he kept his composure and brushed away his admiration for you.

"Are you okay, ma'am? I found you lying down here on the ground and thought you were dead!"

Y/N chuckled nervously as you continued to sip on the water from the leaf-bowl Cordelius gave you earlier.

"H-haha... Just call me Y/N... and I was on a stroll before I accidentally stepped on some... wild mushrooms. I think that's what made me faint."

Cordelius immediately knew what you were talking about and started apologizing profusely.

"OH MY! I'M SO SORRY! THOSE WERE MY MUSHROOMS YOU STEPPED ON!!!"

You were caught off-guard.

"W-wha...? What are you apologizing for? I'm the one who should be sor-"

Cordelius grabbed your hand and started shaking it aggressively.

"No no no! I-I got a bit carried away and planted a bit too many mushrooms! Please forgive me!!! I'll do anything I promise!!!"

You pat Cordelius on the shoulder, trying to calm him down.

"A-alright I forgive you... It was just an accident, okay? I'm fine now!"

Cordelius looked back at you with tears in his eyes. He looked like a little kid who just lost his toy. How... cute.

"Really?! Thank you!"

Cordelius rushed in at you and gave you a tight hug. You could feel yourself warming up from this sudden act. How could anyone stay mad at him? He's so sweet!

You returned the hug and gave Cordelius light pats on the head. Meanwhile, Cordelius felt like he was dreaming. He couldn't believe that a pretty girl was hugging him! If he didn't have his mask on, you could see how red his face was right now.

He thought he had taken some hallucination mushrooms earlier, but he couldn't recall if he did or not. But, your warmth around him was enough to confirm that all of this was real. You both didn't know how long you two were hugging, but you both didn't mind.

Maybe you'll stroll around the mystical forest more often now. You'd love to meet Cordelius again.
