9. Fake Dating

"He's back." Kanishka added quietly, so the others didn't hear.

But Shreyas, yet worried, heard her.

"Who's back? You can tell me, Kanishka. I won't let anything happen to you." He said to her.

Kanishka didn't reply, as everyone behind them were kind of silent now, and their stop had also arrived.

"Guys, you go home, mujhe kuch kam hai. Kanishka, can you come with me?"

"Yeah, sure." Everyone else got out of the car, and headed inside the building.

"Where are we going, Shreyas?" Kanishka asked.

"You'll see."

Shreyas drove towards a place that looked like a studio. Stopping the car, he opened his side's door then went to open Kanishka's.

"Shreyas, what is this place?"

"One second, Kanishka." He said as he opened the door, unlocking it with a key.

Shreyas, looked at her directing her to go inside, and then he followed her inside.

The lights were off, and Shreyas went to switch them on. "Now I can tell you what this place is."

"Kanishka Malhotra's personal dance studio. Where she can practice her own dance, teach here, and also hangout with her friends here. I was actually supposed to show you this tomorrow, but I thought why not now, instead of tomorrow." He added, smiling.

"But why, Shreyas? Iski zaroorat-"

"Nahi thi, pata hai. But you, Kanishka are special. You deserve everything." Shreyas held her hand.

"But Kanishka, please tell me what is worrying you."

"Nothing is worrying me, Shreyas."

"Kanishka, you said to me you understood what was worrying me, right?"

"Yeah, I...I did."

"Then even if I don't know what has happened, I do know for sure that there is something that is worrying you."

"Shreyas..."

Kanishka let go of his hands, and broke down, falling on her knees. Shreyas sat down next her.

"Kanishka-"

"He's back."

"Who is?"

"Karan Ahuja."

"Kavya's brother?" Shreyas asked.

"Yeah. Karan and I dated for a while before I broke up with him, for cheating. Since then Kavya hates me, and wants to destroy me because of that." Kanishka replied, still not looking at her.

"And when she realized that I know you, she tried to use me to ruin you. Otherwise, she doesn't even know the D for Dance." Shreyas said, his hand on his forehead.

"So Karan was the one who you shouted at, at the stadium while we were leaving." He added.

"Yeah. I was scared as hell when I saw him."

"You don't need to be. You have me."

"And us." Kanishka stood up, hearing Shubman, Abhay and Ishan's voices.

The three came to Kanishka and Shreyas. "Jab tak hum hai, tum par ek aanj bhi nahi ayegi. This is a promise, from your brothers." Ishan said.

"Brothers?" Kanishka asked.

"Hum. Me, Shubman, Ishan, and Shreyas. Your brothers. Tum ne hi toh Rakhi bandhi thi, hume." Abhay said.

"Just you three, not me." Shreyas replied, mock-glaring at Abhay.

"But please, don't tell Aadhya, Anisha or Kashvi. I don't want them to worry." Kanishka said, her voice filled with worry on the consequences if her best friends found out.

"They'd do the same thing we'd do." Shubman said.

"Kill him." Abhay said.

"Yeah- wait what?" Kanishka raised her eyebrows. "You said what?"

"Kill him." Abhay repeated.

"Abhay, we're not killing anyone," Ishan said. "We need a new plan." 

"Fake dating." He added, and he looked at Kanishka and Shreyas.

"Hum teen toh bhai hai, apne team mein singles kitne hai? Shreyas, you have any idea?" Ishan asked.

"Rishabh?" Abhay said.

Abhay, and Ishan listed out the players, until Shubman said: 

"Aye, guys, why are we listing players? Shreyas hai na."

"Me?!" Shreyas asked, shocked.

"Yes you. You've spent more time with her than any other player."

"You guys noticed that?" He muttered to himself, even though Kanishka heard.

"K, are you okay with this? We don't have to do this plan if you don't want to. We can think of something else, if not."

"I'm...I'm okay with this plan. Thanks, guys, for your help."

"Shrey?" Ishan said, everyone had noticed that Shreyas was lost in thought.

"Everything okay?"

Shreyas didn't reply, he was once again lost in thought. 

"Shrey?!?" Shubman tapped him on the shoulder.

"I can't believe that I fell for her trick," Shreyas said, as they all sat in a circle.

"It wasn't your fault, Shrey. Her acting was just...so believing." Ishan replied.

"Don't blame yourself, as Ishan said she made sure you believed her. It's not like you knew that Kanishka knew Kavya." Shubman said.

"Well, well, who do we have here?" A voice said.
