14. Revenge plan.

"Kanishka, I know this is not the best day, nor is this how I planned to tell you. Whether it was on-field or off-field, you've been my wall of support, and I've found myself in a confusion. This started off as all fake, so Karan leaves you alone. But these few weeks...it turned real, for me. I don't know how you feel, Kanishka, but I don't want to lose you. Ever. There's a connection, between me and you that I feel, and I can't not pay heed to that connection."

"Shrey..." her voice was a whisper.

Smiling at her, Shreyas continued, "I love you, Kanishka...Will you be...be my girlfriend?"

The place was silent, as Kanishka tried to process what she had just heard. All the others had left the warehouse.

Her crush, had just asked her to be his girlfriend. She wanted to say yes, but how? She tried to speak, but it was all a whisper.

Just as she was about to say yes, the unexpected happened. 

Kanishka, about to fall was saved by Shreyas, but she wasn't awake. She was just half-conscious.

"Kanishka?"

Then Shreyas noticed something: blood on his hands.

It wasn't his, it was Kanishka's. 

Meanwhile, the perpetrators had already escaped. 

One of them, though, had a piece of paper in their hand and they ran into Shubman as they escaped.

"Hey, sorry...." Shubman stopped speaking, seeing them in a 'distressed' state.

"Are you guys okay?" He asked.

"Uh, we're fine." They walked away, and Shubman turned back to the others, and he realized he was holding something in his hand. But he didn't have anything on him, his phone was in his pocket. So what was this?!

"Grand Resorts, NYC. Basement 1. Kanishka equals done," Shubman read aloud. "Why does it say Kanishka?" 

"Shub, everything okay?" Virat asked.

"Virat Bhai..." Shubman showed Virat the scrunched-up paper.

Shreyas came out at the same time, carrying a half-conscious Kanishka.

"What happened!?" 

"There's no time to explain, just open the car door, hospital jana hai!"

"Don't trust my driving skills right now," Virat said as he got into the drivers' seat. "So wear your seatbelts." 

Aadhya and Anisha were at the back, trying their best to keep Kanishka awake. All the others followed them to the hospital.

"BEN STOKES HATT!!" Virat shouted, honking as people were blocking the way.

Eventually, they all reached the hospital. 

The doctor stopped Shreyas, "Please wait here."

"Maa kasam, inko chodunga nahi," Shreyas said standing by the door, when Ritika and Ishan approached him.

"It's been 2 hours Shreyas, you need to eat." Ritika said.

"How can I eat, Bhabhi? When Kanishka-" Shreyas tried to refuse.

"If you don't eat, will Kanishka be fine? No, right. So you need to eat." Ishan added.

But Shreyas had decided he wouldn't change his decision. "Nahi Bhabhi, nahi Ishan. Badla lene ke baad hi khana khaunga." 

"But Shreyas-" Ritika knew no one could change his decision, but she still persisted. 

"Whatever you say, I'll listen, Bhabhi." Shreyas added.

"But until I don't find those who put Kanishka in this situation, I won't rest, eat, or drink."

Anisha was the strong one out of her, Aadhya, Kanishka and Kashvi. But seeing her first ever best friend like that...almost lifeless, broke her. She had known Kanishka the longest. Although she'd never admit it, sitting next to Abhishek made her feel as if she was protected, yet.

Anisha left Abhishek's hold and went to Aadhya and Kashvi, sitting in between them. "Kash, AV," She said, wiping her tears and theirs, "Nothing will happen to K. But us crying won't help either."

Virat, Rohit and Rahul were speaking to the police officers, who Shubman had called directly to the hospital.  

Anushka and Athiya were at the hospital temple.

The doctor came out of the room, "She has lost a lot of blood."

 "But she'll be fine right?!" Kashvi asked. 

"Someone will have to donate blood, otherwise she won't survive-" The doctor was cut off.

"HOW THE FUCK DID YOU DARE TO SAY SHE WON'T SURVIVE?" Shreyas' voice roared, as he pulled the doctor's collar. 

"IF SHE DOESN'T SURVIVE-" 

Virat and Rohit rushed over, them, and Shubman pulled him away from the doctor. 

The doctor, straightening his collar, "Please, take him out of the hospital. There are other patients, they'll get disturbed. We don't want a scene to be caused here."

 Shreyas was about to speak again, but Virat said, "It's not possible that he will willingly leave, so the least we'll do is make sure he doesn't cause a scene. Is that alright with you?"

Shreyas whispered to Virat, "Bhai, Kanishka is fighting for her life here and you expect me to be calm?"

"Shreyas, usse kuch nahi hoga," Rohit said, as Virat spoke to the doctor. "Aur hume un saalon ki woh bhi toh nikal ni hai."

"Hawa?" 

"Haan haan, wahi, wahi. But for that, you need to eat"

 The doctor added, turning to everyone, "We'll need someone who has the same blood group as hers."

 "O-Positive," Kashvi said. "Kanishka's blood group is O-Positive." 

"I'll do it."
