✨️Tragedy✨️
As the moon cast its silvery glow upon the castle, I felt a sudden, excruciating pain. Delilah, my treacherous aunt who had recently lost a bitter war against my cousin, seized this moment of vulnerability to infiltrate the castle. Driven by a thirst for revenge, Delilah stealthily made her way to my chambers.
With a cold, calculated gleam in her eye, Delilah unsheathed a gleaming dagger and lunged towards me. The blade pierced my swollen belly, sending searing agony coursing through my body. As I cried out in horror, Tolga rushed to my side.
My frail hands trembled as I gently caressed the swollen wound in my belly. The realization that the precious life growing within me was now gone sent waves of agony coursing through my soul. Memories of my baby's tiny heartbeat, the flutterings of movement that had filled me with such joy, now haunted me like a cruel jest.
The air crackled with the scent of blood and the metallic tang of fear. I lay crumpled on the floor, a crimson stain blooming on my white dress. My eyes, wide with shock and pain, pleaded with Tolga, my husband, who stood frozen.
My auntie's face, twisted with malice and hatred, flashed through my mind. The woman who had once tried to kill me had now kill my baby. She had ruthlessly stabbed me in a moment of cold-hearted rage. The betrayal cut me deeper than any knife could.
As darkness enveloped me, My thoughts turned to the future I had imagined. I had dreamed of raising a family, a legacy that would continue long after I was gone. Now, those dreams were shattered, leaving only a void that threatened to consume me.
As I was about to speak my words were cut short by a guttural roar that shook the room. A monstrous shadow stretched out from the doorway, its scales shimmering obsidian under the flickering candlelight. Flame had arrived.
'You dare?' Flame's voice boomed, a thunderous growl that vibrated the very walls.
Standing over me, my aunt, Delilah, who had always been a viper in a silken gown, sneered. 'My own niece, the favored child. She has dared to defy me, to steal my rightful inheritance.'
'You are a serpent,' Flame spat, 'a viper who poisons the air with your envy and greed.'
Delilah cackled, her eyes gleaming with malice. 'A dragon's words, how charming. But you forget, beast, that you are bound by the ancient pact. You cannot harm me, unless Melike commands it.'
I, however, was beyond commands. My own blood was staining the floor, my life slipping away. My gaze met Flame's, his eyes filled with desperate pleading.
'Flame...' I whispered, 'Forgive her. Let her go.'
Tolga, his hand finally reaching for the dagger, hesitated. He looked at the woman who had caused his beloved such pain, then at the anguished face of his wife. He felt a surge of rage, a primal need to avenge her, yet... he understood the impossible choice she had made.
Flame lowered his head, his massive form shaking with barely contained fury. 'Melike,' he hissed, 'are you sure?'
My lips a pale line, whispered, 'Please, Flame. She is all that is left of my family...let her go.' It was true. Delilah, her daughter and I was the last Drakenian with pure Mauritian Creole knowledge. Without us The Drakenwilds kingdom would die.
The room fell silent, the only sound the labored rasp of my breath. Delilah, her eyes wide with disbelief, stared at me. She had always known me to be kind, but this...this was beyond comprehension.
