Author's POV
Mihir paced back and forth in their living room, his mind clouded with jealousy and insecurity. Jeevika had mentioned her colleague Arjun a few times, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something more between them.
Unable to contain his unease any longer, Mihir decided to visit Jeevika at the hospital where she worked. As he entered the bustling lobby, his eyes searched for her among the crowd of doctors and nurses. Finally spotting her, he made his way towards her, his heart sinking as he saw her laughing and talking with Arjun.
Jeevika's eyes lit up as she saw Mihir approaching, but he couldn't bring himself to return her smile. Instead, he greeted her curtly and turned to leave, ignoring the confusion in her eyes.
Throughout the day, Mihir avoided Jeevika's calls and messages, nursing his wounded pride. He couldn't understand why she hadn't mentioned Arjun before, and the thought of her laughing and chatting with him only fueled his jealousy.
Meanwhile, Jeevika couldn't understand why Mihir was suddenly acting so distant. She tried calling him multiple times, but he didn't pick up. Worried and confused, she decided to focus on her work and deal with the situation later.
Later that afternoon, as Jeevika was attending to her patients, she was surprised to see a familiar face among them. It was Prisha, one of Mihir's ex-girlfriends. Prisha had come in for an appointment, and seeing Jeevika, she couldn't help but strike up a conversation.
"Jeevika, hi! It's been ages," Prisha exclaimed, smiling warmly.
Jeevika returned the smile, though her mind was racing with questions. "Prisha, what are you doing here?"
"I had an appointment with Dr. Malhotra. I didn't know you worked here," Prisha explained.
As they chatted, Prisha's gaze fell on a photograph of Mihir and Jeevika on one of the shelves. "Is that your husband?" she asked, curiosity piqued.
Jeevika nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. "Yes, it is. Mihir."
Prisha's eyes softened as she looked at the photograph. "He's a good man, you know. He helped me a lot during a difficult time in my life."
Jeevika's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Prisha sighed, her expression somber. "I was in a terrible relationship before I met Mihir. My ex-boyfriend treated me horribly, and I lost all my confidence. But Mihir, he was there for me. He helped me regain my self-esteem and showed me what real love is."
Jeevika's heart swelled with pride as she listened to Prisha's words. Despite her own doubts and insecurities, she couldn't deny the warmth and affection she felt for Mihir.
Later that evening, Jeevika returned home, her mind swirling with conflicting emotions. She found Mihir sitting on the couch inside their bedroom, his expression unreadable.
"Mihir, we need to talk," she said softly, taking a seat beside him.
Mihir turned to look at her, his eyes guarded. "What is it, Jeevika?"
Jeevika hesitated, gathering her thoughts before speaking. "I had an unexpected encounter today, Mihir. I bumped into Prisha, your ex-girlfriend."
Mihir's expression tightened at the mention of Prisha's name. "What did she want?"
"She didn't come to see me specifically," Jeevika clarified, sensing his unease. "But during our conversation, she mentioned how you had been there for her during a difficult time in her life. She spoke highly of you, Mihir."
