Author's POV
7 YEARS LATER
Mihir and Jeevika lay intertwined beneath the sheets, basking in the warm morning light that filtered through the curtains. After a passionate night, they enjoyed the quiet intimacy of the moment, their bodies still wrapped around each other. Mihir gently kissed Jeevika's forehead, making her giggle softly.
"I love mornings like this," Mihir whispered, his lips brushing against her ear.
"Me too," Jeevika replied, snuggling closer to him. "It's nice to just be us for a little while."
Their peaceful morning was suddenly interrupted by the sound of small footsteps pattering across the floor. Their three-year-old son, Aarav, burst into the room with wide eyes and boundless energy.
"Mama! Papa!" Aarav called out excitedly, but he stopped abruptly when he saw them under the sheets. He blinked, tilting his head in confusion. "What are you doing?"
Jeevika quickly pulled the sheet up to cover herself better, feeling a mix of amusement and embarrassment. "Good morning, Aarav," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Morning," Mihir echoed, smiling at their son. "We were just... cuddling."
Aarav frowned, clearly not entirely satisfied with the answer. "Why are you always cuddling?" he asked with a pout.
Jeevika glanced at Mihir, who was struggling to keep a straight face. "Because we love each other," she said gently.
Aarav seemed to ponder this for a moment, then shrugged. "Okay, I'm going to play now," he announced, turning to leave the room. But before he did, he paused and looked back at them. "Mama, Papa needs help with everything. He's like a kid!"
Mihir chuckled, shaking his head. "Where did he get that from?"
Jeevika laughed, nudging him playfully. "He got it from you. You're always running to me for help."
"Am not!" Mihir protested, grinning. "Well, maybe a little."
As Aarav left the room, Jeevika gave Mihir a playful push. "See? He understands now. He's not a baby anymore."
Mihir sighed, wrapping his arms around her once more. "I know, but I can't help it. I like needing you."
"You're impossible," Jeevika said, smiling despite herself.
Mihir leaned in, capturing her lips in a tender kiss. "And you love me for it."
Jeevika rolled her eyes, but her smile betrayed her true feelings. "Yes, I do. Now go help Aarav get ready for his first day at playschool. We can't be late."
Mihir sighed dramatically but got up, pulling on a pair of sweatpants. "Alright, alright. But just so you know, I could use some help too."
Jeevika laughed as she got up and started getting dressed. "I know, Mihir. I know."
They both got ready quickly, and Jeevika helped Aarav put on his little backpack. Aarav beamed up at her, his excitement contagious. "Mama, I'm going to make so many friends today!"
Jeevika kissed his forehead. "I know you will, sweetheart."
As they headed out the door, Mihir grabbed Jeevika's hand and squeezed it. "We're doing okay, right?" he asked softly.
Jeevika looked at him, her eyes filled with love. "We're doing more than okay, Mihir. We're doing great."
After a long but fulfilling day, Mihir, Jeevika, and Aarav returned home. Aarav was bubbling with excitement, eager to share his experiences from his first day at playschool.
