Mending broken hearts

First encounter

Diana went home feeling hopeful, she changed into a  casual dress packed some little Stuffs and headed straight to her new workplace.
First time at work always tend to be stressful like she had always thought,  the money her mother earns isn't enough to take care of the house bills,  so she works to support her struggling mother to bring food to the table.

She got to her workplace at the Nick of time,  she stood in front of the restaurant where  is expected to be her new workplace, she read the inscription boldly written on the large poster hanging on top of the restaurant.

'HOMESTYLE HAVEN ', 'it looks so homely and of high quality like it name implies, far away from home's,  she thought inwardly. She walked into the restaurant after making a long sigh.

She got to the order table and was directed to the managers office , she walked u OK to the managers office and stood in front of door looking nervous,  she stood there for a split second before she was able to summon the courage to knock the door.

Like the person behind was expecting a knock on the door, the person replied almost immediately "come in".
She reluctantly opened the door and stepped in with her head bowed.
The person voiced out,  the sound of a man in his late fifties could be heard sitting behind the boy table in the office.

Diana raised her head,. Lo,  a man wearing a body hugging suit with a  matching tie was sitting behind a huge desk,  on the desk an inscription 'Mr Chan - was boldly on the desk,  with files and computer giving the room the look of an office.

" You can have your sit", she man ordered her to sit pointing is finger at the empty chairs opposite the desk
" Diana right"
"Yes sir "
"I won't doubt you know what your job here is meant to be "
"Yes sir"
" This place is governed by rules which must be followed "
"Yes sir"

The manager reached out to someone through the landphone on the desk,  he exchanged a few words with the person, within seconds a staff walked into the office. An average height, slim and skinny girl in her early twenties walked in to the office and bowed as a sign of respect.

Without been told what to do,she faced Diana and she smiled showcasing her set of white teeth
"Let go", she ordered.  Diana nodded and followed behind the young lady to a room room with varieties of shelves and a tall locker.

The woman search through a shelf and brought out a tag and a waitress dress,  she hand it over to her and gave her a booklet containing the rules governing the restaurant.
" Get changed into the dress,  make use of the tag, pick a locker and keep your stuffs there, one more thing abide by the rules in that booklet ", she uttered this and walked out on the room without giving her a one last glance.

She was done dressing and trying to fix her tag to her dress when a young lady barged into the room,  she scanned Diana with her beautiful eyes from head to toe putting on a satisfactory smile.
"Woah, you are stunning ", she exclaimed,  she walked towards Diana and stood few meters away from her

"I'm Katherine but you can call me Katy,  I'll be your guide around this restaurant and you'd be my partner as a waitress, let's set in to work before miss chucks grumbles in" she stood still at starred at Diana " What does your name implies "
"Diana Amy "
"Woah you've got nice names too but your surname doesn't sound homely to be a surname, they are beautiful names though ".

They moved out of the room to the counter to do there job and it was a bit tiring and stressful more orders kept trooping in  that both Katy and Diana had less time to talk.

Towards evening, about the time for the restaurant to wrap up for the day, an order was made and Katy urged Diana to get the orders delivered  to them, she packed their orders into the tray to get them delivered.
