The night was unusually quiet in New York, the city's usual hum reduced to a low murmur. High above the streets, the rooftop of an abandoned warehouse served as a vantage point for DCP Ranveer Sinha. His sharp eyes surveyed the scene below—a major drug deal in progress, the culmination of months of surveillance and undercover work by the NYPD.

Ranveer's presence was a testament to the gravity of the situation. As a high-ranking officer, he rarely engaged directly in field operations. But this cartel had crossed too many lines, and Ranveer was known for delivering justice his own way.

He signaled his team to stay back, preferring to approach alone. His steps were deliberate and silent as he descended the fire escape, his gun ready in his hand. The warehouse was a hive of activity, heavily armed men guarding the transaction taking place inside.

Bursting through the side entrance, Ranveer moved with lethal precision. Two guards fell before they could react, bullets finding their mark in seconds. The sudden chaos alerted the others, but their response was futile. Ranveer was relentless, his every shot calculated, his every move deadly.

In the midst of the gunfire, his phone vibrated. Without missing a beat, he answered, recognizing the special ringtone he had set for his wife, Anu.

"Hello, Anu," he said, his voice softening instantly as he ducked behind a crate, firing two more shots over his shoulder.

"Ranveer, are you busy?" Anu's voice was gentle, concerned.

"Just a little, love," he replied, popping up to take out another assailant with a single shot. "How was your day?"

"It was good. I just miss you. Are you safe?"

Ranveer paused, allowing himself a brief smile despite the chaos. "I'm just making sure the city is safe for you, my love."

A sudden burst of gunfire forced him to move, rolling to a new position. He could hear Anu's worried tone. "What's that noise?"

"Just a movie playing in the background," he lied smoothly, dropping another cartel member who had tried to flank him. "You know how loud these action films can be."

"Stay safe, Ranveer. I love you."

"I love you too, Anu. I'll call you back soon." He ended the call, slipping the phone back into his pocket.

The room was almost clear now, only the leader of the cartel remained. Ranveer approached him slowly, his gun trained on the trembling man.

"Please, don't," the man begged, but there was no mercy in Ranveer's eyes.

"This is for every life you've destroyed," Ranveer said coldly, pulling the trigger one last time.

Silence settled over the warehouse. Ranveer holstered his gun, his fierce demeanor returning to one of calm resolve. He walked back to his team, who waited outside.
