Y/N

On Monday morning, there was a car parked outside Mr. Jeon's house, waiting for me, just as he had mentioned. Suna had handed me the keys before I left, but I didn't get a chance to see Mr. Jeon as he had already left earlier.

I'm outside of his company, Jeon International. Hospitality Industry. I enter the building and make my way to reception. The security guard at the front desk accepts my identification, and I'm given a code to work the elevator.

I'm trying to appear confident as I watch myself in the mirror. I'm wearing a black pencil skirt that hits just above my knees, black stockings and a cream silk blouse with long sleeves. I'm looking at the men and women that are with me in the elevator. They all look classy and professional.

I didn't expect the women to wear so much makeup. I should have applied more on myself. Maybe some extra blush and lipgloss would have helped. It seems like the natural look isn't the way to go here.

"Hello" I smile at the woman standing by reception on the 25th floor. That's where I'm supposed to work. "I'm Y/N Anderson, I'm starting today."

"Hello, Y/N, my name is Sophie, I'm the floor manager." She steps over to shake my hand. "It's lovely to meet you."

She seems like a nice woman.

"Let me show you to your desk." She smiles and I walk beside her. This floor is huge. There are people working in groups and each of them are separated with  partitions from each other. "Each floor on this building is a different arm of the company." She says as she walks. "New employees are taken and guided for a tour around the building. Nicole, Mr. Jeon's former assistant, will come to get you in 20 minutes."

"Okay, that sounds great." Wow, everyone and everything around here seems incredibly professional. It's amazing how focused they are on their work, not even bothering to glance in my direction. At my dad's company, if a new person was hired, everyone would immediately divert their attention to get a better look.

"Congratulations on your first day as his assistant. The people here have worked hard and devoted years to achieve the position you now hold." She smiles again this time, but it doesn't look friendly at all. "So better not mess it up."

Wow. Okay.

I want to ask her if she is one of those people, but I don't want to be rude.

She leads me to a group of three desks by the window and pulls out a chair. "This is your desk."

"Thank you." I tell her as I fall into my seat and panic begins to rise in my stomach.

"I'll leave you to it then." She returns back to reception.

"Hello." A woman says as she sits in the seat beside me. "I'm Emily." She reaches over and shakes my hand. "You must be Y/N."

"Yes. Hi Emily." I smile and she smiles back.

I noticed she has a wedding ring on her finger, and there's a framed picture that I assume is her husband and her son.

I stare at the screen in my desk as my heart starts beating violently. For a moment I think to myself if I will make it. I'll probably start making mistakes and someone else will replace me. I can't let that happen, even if I'm here with my dad's help. I'm good at what I do.
