Y/N
"What about this one?"
"Hmm, I don't know..." Emily answers "Isn't it too revealing?"
"So what? You're wearing it for your husband," I tell her as I hold up the dress for her to see if it suits her. She's getting ready to celebrate her wedding anniversary with her husband in just two days and asked me to assist her with picking out an outfit.
"Right." She answers.
I hold the dress in my arm, along with a few other dresses we picked out for her to try on. "Now we just need to find some lingerie."
After searching for two hours, we finally found the perfect dress and lingerie for her. Now we're eating hamburgers like we haven't eaten in days. It was a long, exhausting day at work too. We've been working hard and getting ready for the meeting with the Blackards. Grace didn't show up to see Mr. Jeon in his office either. I wonder if she's still mad about what I said yesterday.
"Emily..." she stops bopping her head to the music playing in the background. "How did you meet your husband?"
"Hmm...We were high school lovers."
"You've been together that long?" I cut her off.
"Yes." She laughs. "We grew up together."
My face falls. She wouldn't understand me.
"Of course, we were madly in love and whatever, but I never thought we are gonna last. I mean, we were kids obviously we didn't know what we were doing." She sips her drink before she speaks again. "He even cheated on me."
I almost choked on my food. "What?"
She laughs again.
"Emily this is not funny. Why did you stay with him?"
"I didn't." She explains. "Like I said, we were kids. After I found out he was cheating, I broke up with him and didn't see him for a year. But then we started talking again."
"Emily, he cheated on you."
"I know...People used to say I was dumb for forgiving him, but look at us now, happily married with an amazing 10 year old son." She says with a smile.
"Well, good for you. I don't think I could have done it." I say with a shrug.
"And you better not. I'm not here to show you an example or give you advice. I stayed with him because I was head over heels in love and couldn't see the reality of our relationship. However, after a few years, we knew we were meant to be. We matured and understood all the silly mistakes we made. Tell me, would you have married your first love?"
"Absolutely not." I roll my eyes at that idea.
"But did you thought about marrying him at that time?"
"Well, yeah..." I shudder as I recall all the memories from back then.
"Exactly." She exclaims "I never thought I'd end up marrying Michael for real, but back then, you wouldn't believe how many wedding ideas were swirling around in my head. It's like that with celebrities too. You love them so much that you begin creating ridiculous scenarios in your mind."
"How did you know he was the one?" I ask.
"I don't know...I just knew. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else."
I let out a sigh. I've thought about dating someone new, someone younger and maybe even better, but then I can't help but think of Mr. Jeon. How could anyone else make me feel the way he did? I've never experienced anything like that before. And who could be better than him? He has everything I could ever want.
