"Crazy how fast you got better." I looked down at the surfboard Dax let me borrow. I smoothed my hand against the smooth wood.
"Yeah i know, i just hate how long i have to wait till i can surf again." I looked up at Dax standing between the door frame with his arm around Aussie.
"Time will pass by before you know it, i mean i had to wait months to be with Dax again." Aussie kissed Dax on the cheek, she some how always made it about her.
"Did Asher pass by the hospital?" my memory was foggy i couldnt remember the smell of the ocean anymore.
Dax pinched his lips together. "No, no one came, i am sorry Bondi." I shrugged my shoulders and laid down on the bed.
"I am sure they were busy." i whispered.
"We should let you sleep now." i didnt respond, i felt no reason to respond. Days were flying by i couldnt grab a hold of the time anymore. I didnt see a good outcome of school, since all this has been happening.
Questions swarmed in my mind making me wonder what my mother has been up to or where Sage was, why didnt she come visit me. My eyelids grew heavy i didnt fight the urge to stay awake i shut my eyes and exhaled gently.
Why couldn't i have a normal life like the people around me.
"Wake up." i opened my eyes, hearing the usual bird chirps outside the window. That i remember.
I sat up leaning against my elbows feeling the thick wool blanket laying against my lower body. "Dax?" i said as my voice cracked. Roughly i pulled the blanket off my body and stood up. Standing up was easy it was the walking that was hell.
Gripping the door frame trying to keep my balance i hear a loud bang coming from Dax's room. If anyone was to break in there was no way i could save myself. "Dax?" i slid my hand against the walls feeling the bubbly paint scraping my palm trying to keep balance. I was scared to go towards the sound but i knew i had to, what if Dax was hurt?
"Dax." i said running out of patience. "Where the hell are you?" i wasnt sure if Dax could even hear me or not. Maybe he was out with Aussie or worst doing it on the floor making banging noises.
"Bondi." I stopped walking due to a deep voice from behind me. I was scared I didn't want to turn around. "You okay Bondi?" The voice was deep and concerning but didn't sound like Dax. I nodded my head slowly feeling a tightness in my neck. "Oh good." The voice was getting closer I could feel their presence.
"Dax?" I said softly, strong hands grabbed my shoulder and spun my around. I was looking into Dax's warm eyes. I let out the breath of air I was holding in.
"You okay?" He gently placed his finger under my chin lifting my face up. "Are you alright?" He asked, I couldnt respond his finger held my jaw in place. His eyes looked down at my lips and then at my eyes, I watched his eyes rapidly switch from my hazel eye to my blue one then back to my lips. "I'm glad you could walk out of your room." I blinked slowly looking at his clenched jaw and inviting eyes. "Bondi..." He whispered. He leaned in close to me slowly. I could feel his breath pick up pace. I shut my eyes the usual reaction when someone comes close to you slowly. I waited to feel something soft touch my lips, and it did. His lips met mine I felt his bottom lip pressed against mine it felt like the missing puzzle piece. He removed his finger from under my chin and placed his hand on my lower back. He stepped closer to me and I suddenly thought about Aussie. Where the hell was Aussie while I excited her boyfriend in the hallway. I couldn't pull away a part of me didn't want to. His other hand gently found its way under my hair and softly gripped the back of my neck making his kisses harder. Finally I opened my eyes. I don't know why the sight of him didn't excite me, I didn't feel like this was right. I gently pulled away feeling our lips pull away last as if they didn't want to let go.
"What's wrong?" His voice was dry and not the same.
"I need air." I whispered placing my hand against the wall again to keep my balance.
"But why?" Dax grabbed my wrist and smirked. "Why you wanna leave?" I squinted my eyes.
"I said i need to get air Dax, I'm not running away." I yanked my wrist out of his grip. "I'll be back." I said slowly turning around towards the door.
"Wait." Suddenly I felt Dax push up against me with his arms wrapped around my waist.
"Dax I need air, what's with you." I pushed him off, forgetting how sore my body was I rushed out the door.
"Hey." I looked up and rolled my eyes to the sight of Bondi. The fuck was this was she waiting for me.
"Bondi we gotta talk." I whirled around to see Dax standing behind me.
"Like now." Aussie said twirling her hair.
"Why can't I just fucking get some air." I said clenching my hands in a fist.
"Well you can't have air right now Bondi." Dax reached out and tried to touch my shoulder but I moved away. I was getting fustrated I needed space.
"Bondi." Aussie said in a slow voice.
"What the hell do you want Aussie?" I began walking down the steps but I could hear a echo of foot steps follow me.
"Don't speak to me like that." Aussie roughly grabbed my arm making me fall down landing on the last step of the stairs.
"Let go of me!" I yelled trying to get up.
"No, stop fighting." Aussie digged her perfectly manicured nails into my skin.
I felt my neck tense from to much movement.
"Bondi, there is something we need to tell you." Dax walked over and knealed in front of me.
"What is with you." I said calming down, feeling her nails digging deeper into my skin.
"Look I'm not really in high school." Dax said touching my cheek. "And Aussie isn't really my girlfriend." I pressed my lips together and stared at his eyes that turned cold and ruthless.
"Yeah, he's like...yuck."
"You fucking bastard!" I stared straight ahead but I heard a familiar voice in the distance.
Dax roughly turned his head . "Shit." He whispered. I finally looked to see Sage running to where we all were.
"I fucking told you to make sure she goes back inside." Dax said to Aussie, I stared straight ahead feeling as if whatever happens it won't matter.
"Its like not my fucking fault sooooooo don't get mad at me, fucking dick." Aussie said letting go of my arm, I felt blood begin to rush through my arm again.
"Why the hell is this bitch holding on to her like that." I could hear the voice coming closer and closer.
"Its nothing." Dax stood up and moved out of my vision. I now stared at a lonely trail towards the beach.
"That's not fucking nothing."
"Sage, relax babe." Im guessing that must be Lagoon.
"You said it was another two weeks till she gets out of the hospital, fucking liar." Sage grabbed my arm standing me up. "You're coming with us." I finally looked at Sage and at lagoon.
"Look at her!" Sage put both of her cold hands on my cheeks pushing them together. "She doesn't look well, you okay honey?" I nodded but I didn't feel as if I was in my own body I began wondering what was this all about. "Fucking asshole." Sage gave Dax a dirty look and then wrapped her arm around me. "Cmon let's go." I followed her, not looking back.
"Sage!" Dax yelled as we walked away. "Bondi!" I ignored it, confused wondering if everything he told me was a lie.
