I arrive in the "Surf Shop" to see Dax checking out this blue bathing suit shorts on a tall rack I probably couldn't reach.
"Hey Dax." I said walking up behind him.
"Heyyyyy you made it Bondi!" he turned around holding the shorts in his hand. "What do you think?"
"Nice, they are really cool!" I said feeling the soft material.
"Imma try them on." Dax walks over to the fit room as I followed him.
Two minutes later he comes out with just the shorts on and no shirt I know the lady working was staring also.
"Yah they look really good on you Dax, you should get them." I said tying not to look to hard.
"Hey let me buy you the matching pair, c'mon they are over here." I followed him to he girls side, he led me to the same exact bathing suit but in a Bikin version.
"Oh no that's okay."
"C'Mon at least try it please!" he handed me the bikini.
"Wait I'm not size small." I said trying to turn around.
"Yeah you totally are!" I walk into the small dressing room. I took off my tank top and my bra, then took off my pants and underwear I stood there naked. I slipped the bikini bottom on which was a perfect, tight fit, made my butt look good. I put the bikini top over my breast I reached behind me trying to tie the string but I couldn't.
"Dax can you help me, you don't have to if it will be awkward?" I asked facing the wall. I hear the curtain slowly open.
"Yah sure." he reached and grabbed the string, his hand slightly touched my back making me quiver.
After my top was tied I turned around and faced him in his bathing suit, we both turned to look in the mirror.
"Wanna be surfing buddies?" he asked breaking the silence.
"You know that sounds fun." I looked at him will he looked at me through the mirror.
I find myself in a hard bed, early on Saturday morning. I let out a yawn while sitting up in my bed. I climb out of bed and stumble to the bathroom, when I turned the knob it rejected me. I turn it again and it did not open. I was awaken by the sound of the faucet turning on. I place my ear on the door. I hear nothing but the water from the faucet pouring out vigorously. After about two minutes a phone rang inside the bathroom, I listened the best I could trying to block out the sink.
"Yes I am here, it was quite easy to find her." The voice was deep and low. "I couldn't find anything but, this chick seems like a wannabe surfer." I freaked I quickly slipped on some jeans while leaving my gray tank top on. I gathered all my things in my bag and stuffed all my money in a plastic bag after counting it. I slam the door behind me. I ran down the hallway, it is so narrow it made me feel like I was running so fast. When I got to the lobby I ran outside, almost going blind from the sun, I quickly covered my eyes. I began speed walking down the sidewalk bumping into people trying to find somewhere safe.
"Bondi!" I heard my name I didn't want to turn around, I didn't want to look at the face of someone who was going to kill me so I kept walking. "Bondi!" the voice was getting closer and closer I couldn't make out if it was a girl or boy. "Bondi!" the voice was right behind me, a hand reach out and roughly grabbing my shoulder whirling me around. "Bondi what is wrong someone chasing you?" I open my eyes to see Sage. "Dude you made me run." I couldn't help myself but to hug her I never been so happy to see her. "Where you off too?" she asked out of breath as I squeezed her.
"I'm going to 'Maggie's Surf Shop' I got a job there, I'm pretty excited how about you?" we began walking and I was happy she didn't ask again if anyone was following me.
"I was going to meet up with Tate?" she looked down at the gray cement sidewalk as she strolled in her black boots.
"Tate?, who is he now, what happened to Lagoon." I was confused and happy that I got my mind off of that man looking for me.
"Lagoon I had sex with him then he just dumped me on my ass so whatever, Tate is really kind I might grow to love him." Sage laughed at her own comment. "What's happening with you catching any good waves?" Sage wasn't that into surfing as I was but she respected my passion for it and always asked how it was going.
"Actually pretty good I have a new surfing buddy... Dax." I smiled at her, but she didn't smile back.
"You bitch you date someone but don't tell me?" she stopped walking and as did I.
"No wait what we are not dating he has a girlfriend!" Sage shrugged her shoulders and began walking as I followed.
When we reached the shop where I will soon work I was happy, I didn't like this awkward ness from Sage I know she thinks me and Dax are something but we are nothing but surfing buddies. "Thanks for walking me I'll see you Monday." I said while Sage leaned over and kissed my cheek.
"See ya bitch." Sage left probably still wondering about me and Dax.
"Oh well look who aint late, I have to go, actually my little baby don' got sick... you know basic math right?" I watched Maggie gather up her belonging into a purse and sling it over her shoulder.
"Yes I know basic math." I said so confused I don't even know how to work a cash register.
"Okay the cash register is pretty easy to work, aint got no trick to it." before I knew it country Maggie was gone.
Business was slow and agonizingly long, where is Maggie she never came back or called to tell me she wasn't coming back. I read the store magazine and notice it closes at 10:00 it was now 11:00, well its not like anyone came in the mean time. I closed the shop down and began to gather up my things till I heard a small tap on the glass door. I didn't want to turn around, fear bean to grow inside of me. The tap occurred again, I mean I am safe since I am inside the store. I slowly turned around to see Dax. I let out a sigh while walking over to unlock the door.
"Hey shouldn't you be home." Dax said while closing the door behind him. "I saw you through the window while walking by, pretty neat shop right." he explored all the surf boards. I then realized I had no where to sleep or go, crap.
"Shouldn't you be home with your parents." I stopped gathering my stuff and turned to face him while smiling.
"I don't live with my parents I live alone actually." I felt a pit in my stomach I have no where else to go I thought.
"Dax.. I have to ask you a odd question." I walked closer to him.
"No question is odd what's up."
"I need a place to sleep I have no where else to go, and I also need you to help me retrieve my surf board I left at...my cousins." I said praying with my eyes wide up in a upright position he would say yes.
"yea of course that's what surfing buddies do c'mon." he reached for my shoulder, I extended my arm grabbing my bags and making sure I had my money then following him out the store.
