RACHEL MACFARLANE would always consider herself smart. She was gullible at times, like when her brother convinced her to watch this new short called The Life of Larry that he heard was airing because some guy named Seth MacFarlane created it and Josh claimed that Seth was their distant uncle or something like that.

But in some cases, she felt like an idiot who couldn't tell the difference between her left shoe and the right.

This was something that Rachel had longed for. For months, all she ever wanted was to be with Jay Kelso and when she had him, it was nothing like she thought. Which was both a good and bad thing. She didn't want to make a pros and cons list especially when the pros outweighed the cons.

Rachel and Jay had been in a relationship for over a year now and the two of them saw no problems, but it didn't take much to notice that Rachel and Nate Runck had been off with each other.

Jay thought he knew enough about Rachel and Nate's past relationship, but he was wrong.

He didn't know that Nate had broken up with Rachel because he was scared to love her. He didn't know that Rachel and Nate were each other first time. He didn't know that Rachel and Nate had kissed last summer and that if Nate hadn't told Rachel that he and Nikki Velasco had gotten back together, she most likely would've gotten back together with him instead of being with Jay.

But maybe that was all a blessing in disguise because Jay was good to Rachel in more ways than one. He was kind to her, gave her praise, and supported her in all her endeavors. He wasn't how she expected him to be, which was a good thing, but he also had his moments where he would fall back into his "Kelso" ways, but that would be talked about now.

Right now, Rachel and Jay had been in her newly decorated bedroom that Jay along with their friend group had a hand in, but that truly didn't matter. What mattered right now, was the fact that Jay's fingers had been gently cupped onto Rachel's cheek.

To Jay, Rachel always tasted like mint. It was unusual to him. Most girls he hooked up with had always had a fruity taste to them, like strawberries or cherries, but Rachel was a fine mint. It was like he had brushed his teeth and instantly drank orange juice after... which he had before coming to her house, but to him, that feeling was so, so good.
