"Want a sip?" Natalia asks as we walk through the market. She ordered a watermelon aguas fresca from a street vendor. A hibiscus flower and a slice of watermelon sticks out the top of it.
"I'll take this." I steal the watermelon slice and begin eating it.
"Hey!" She laughs and lightly shoves me.
I laugh and keep eating the watermelon. I watch her as a blush settles across her cheeks as I suck the juices from the fruit as I take a bite. I did something very similar to her last night. Lustful satisfaction flares into my chest as she looks back to where she's walking and her cheeks turn bright pink. I smirk up and look around.
I know they're here. We have intel that says they drove through the border a few days ago. They're either still on the road or they're here waiting for us. If I were them I'd want to travel as fast as possible to get in and get out but there will be no getting out. Atleast not for Dante. The Italians say I can't kill Ivan but Dante is fair game. Killing Ivan is World War apparently. The good news is I won't have to kill him, Ivan and I made a bargain. I'm apparently the more level headed of the weird alliance I have between myself, the Romanos, and Mariano. I gave Ivan a call after we talked through their horrible decision and finalized it.
It's a rather simple bargain. He gives me Dante to do what ever I want with and he gets to speak to Natalia. He wanted to have her alone to speak to her and I refused that little bit. I told him that I would be supervising their little chat just to make sure she wasn't absconded off somewhere. Reluctantly, he agreed. I couldn't ask for a better outcome. I don't understand why the others hadn't tried this yet. I lean and kiss Natalia's head and she leans into me a little. She'll probably be pissed but it keeps everyone safe and all she has to do is be in front of her ex for a few minutes and in theory there should be less shooting. She doesn't even have to listen to him. I kinda hope she doesn't. I like her. Like really like her. We've had fun together. She's surprisingly funny and hot as hell. I wouldn't mind keeping her for a bit if she'll have me. So maybe just maybe she'll let him speak and then come back with me. Maybe. Hopefully. But maybe.
I look over to see Andrea and Stacey waiting by a vendor a few feet away waiting on Isabella to finish what ever she's doing with the vendor. She turns with a smile with some candies in her hands. I move my head to indicate for them to catch up. Isabella smiles and falls in line with Andrea and Stacey.
"You planning on sharing Isabella?" I drawl emphasizing her name.
She laughs then hands me a piece that I pop into my mouth. "Thanks."
She laughs. "I'm addicted to these now. They're so good. What will I do when I can't get them in New York." She complains.
"If you can't find any I'll send some." I offer.
"Oh you don't have to do that." She says around a candy.
"I'll send some if you can't get any or I'll just bring them to you. After the wedding I'm sure it won't be long until there's a baby and I will need time with my niece or nephew."
Andy practically trips. "Hold up on the baby talk. We need to get married first."
Andy looks around to another vendor and walks over. She's by herself but we're just in the middle of the row so she should be ok but that's where I'm wrong.
Shots ring out in the middle of the market and screaming commences. I grab Natalia's hand and duck. I pop my head up and watch as Dante sticks a gun to Andy's head and tells her to walk. Seeing him in the flesh is like watching him raise from the grave. Rage bubbles over as he dares stick a gun to her head. She shakes her head and he cocks the hammer back. I'm snapped back into the situation. She turns around to walk the other way and she catches me looking. I nod to her. "It's alright." She swallows and nods and then begins walking as I duck. I'm fired upon from where I'm huddled between a few tables. Andy ducks and runs as more shots are fired all around and Dante grabs her arm and yanks her to him. I hear her yelp at the motion. Natalia sits next to me looking around trying to figure out where the other gun men are. I grab her arm and she quickly looks to me. "Stay beside me. Do exactly as I say."
