"Cariño you know I can't tell you." I laugh. I sit out in the courtyard with a sweater and a cup of hot chocolate. Most everyone is in bed. Miguel sits next to me reading while I talk to Raphael with his phone.
Raphael grumbles from the other side. "Topolina just tell me the color..."
"White. I figured that was given." I chuckle.
"It could be cream or beige or something. There are several different types of white." He answers frustrated. "Any other color in the dress?"
"No amore just white." I smile.
"Sleeves no sleeves?"
"Raphael, I'm not going to answer that
You'll see it at our wedding." I giggle."The dress is very nice Raphael. Now hurry up and get off the phone." Miguel snarks.
"Eloping might be worth the risk." Raphael grumbles.
Miguel pipes in but doesn't look up. "It's your funeral."
"I don't think he would complain." Raphael growls.
"Raphael don't tempt me. I'm the man of honor. I'm supposed to be supportive. I may not like you mainly because your stealing the love of my life away from me but you are the one she chose." Miguel grumbles another complaint low in spanish and I elbow him. "Maybe don't say anything more about eloping and you won't find out what the perks are of being the Don's wife. Or in your soon to be mother in laws case ex wife. We need you alive and well unfortunately."
I can almost hear Raphael's grimace. "I miss you amore. Where does he have you?"
"You know I can't answer that either." I look at Miguel who nods and gives a thumbs up.
"Alright what's the weather like?"
"Raphael, I'm not answering that. Just know that I'm safe. I'm ready to come home though are you any closer?" I ask.
"We have a plan. I don't like it but it's a plan." He grumbles. Miguel let's out a small huffing laugh.
Miguel shrugs when I glare at him. "What? The plan is rough. It's not terrible it just has some issues that I don't love. Raphael and I agree on that." Miguel smirks and leans back.
I go back to the phone call. "He's right amore. The plan has some flaws but it's the best we can come up with."
"Can you tell me anything about it?" I ask.
"No that's kind of the point. The less you know the better." Raphael responds.
"I can tell you we're headed to Playa soon though." Miguel's voice pipes up behind me.
"Really?! Wait why?" I ask the excitement I experienced dissipating quickly.
Raphael replies. "Because it's our best option amore."
"Ok...let's stop talking about it if I can't have anymore information. How are my parents?"
"Your fathers are pissed but they're alright. Your mother is just worried. Daniel and your father have been more of a stress for her than they want to realize. Daniel and Guiseppe want to set Miguel, Ivan, and Dante on fire. They don't care that in a very twisted way that he's protecting you from Dante."
"Tell them I love them."
"Of course amore. I love you."
My voice cracks. I miss him so much. "I love you too." Then I hang up.
Miguel's hand goes to my shoulder. "We're working on bringing you home mi amor."
"Thank you." I hand him back his phone. He squeezes my shoulder then stands. "I'm headed to bed. See you in the morning."
